Hadayagim — Restaurant in Tel-Aviv

I went there today with my family and I'm not planning to come back. Here's why: Horrible service. At first one of the older employees greeted us, he seemed really stressed and told us we needed to wait about 30m. Although there many empty tables inside. A minute later one of the waiters invited us to take a seat. Then a few minutes later the older employee made an appearance, and told the other waiter off, and said something like "You can sit but might not be the first to get served". After that he was appeased as he realised we had ordered a table (we didn't).

During our meal we had to wait a long time for our food. The salads didn't take too long, but the main course took about 30 minutes. Nobody came to ask if everything was gone, and one of the tables next to us was still left uncleared, which was not pleasant.

There were 2 waiters but I felt they needed at least 4 to handle all the tables.

In the end our waiter was audacious enough to ask us to give the tip in cash. Who said we were going to tip you??

Mediocre food - the salads were nice and with a nice selection though the pitas were dry. We ordered grilled fish, oysters, calamari and schnitzel for kids.

Now except for the fish which was really tasty, and the schnitzels which get the benefit of the doubt, all the rest was... meh. Not great. We even considered giving the oysters back... Which brings me to...

Pricing - OK so I know oysters, calamari, and even fish can be pricy. But 140 NIS for a medium sized plate of oysters? Or even a large flat plate of calamari? It's gotta be earth shuttering at that price point, and sadly it wasn't. So yes, when I got the 550 NIS bill I was surprised. But I would happily have parted my money for a great culinary experience. But unfortunately it wasn't even closed to that. If going to the Old Man and yhe Sea were on the table, I'd happily go there and enjoyed much more. To top it off, the food I asked to take away was packaged in a very flimsy way, resulting in sauce leaking on my bag...

This place is a Dishonest Tourists Trap. The large sign outside shows menu of various popular meals starting with a Fish & Chips and so forth, after sitting and ordering drinks we've realized we stumbled into a tourists trap when they've gave us the menu and the prices were so much higher than the sign has shown, in fact the fish & chips price was 225% on the menu than what it reads on the street sign, after asking why is that we've been told that "the prices outside are for takeout only, DUH (no wonder the place was with one table occupied only while the other restaurants around were absolutely full and crowded). About the food and service: the fish & chips was so mediocre, not crispy nor crunchy, that even for the takeout prices it would be too expensive in my opinion, the service wasn't anything hot and in fact the ketchup and mayo were served in small packets like in most fast food restaurant, we had to break open each one of these packets and get our hands dirty and this for a restaurant that charges 225% just for the sitting all along the location is not even a prime location at the Jaffa Port. There is all the way on the other side of the building another fish & chips restaurant that is rated much higher for very competitive prices, and the salmon fish we've ordered was nice but nothing hot and exciting while the prices were higher like all items listed in the menu outside. Может быть, этого отзыва и не было, если б не ответ работников заведения … Но, обо всем по порядку. Гуляя по набережной Яффо компанией из 5 человек, решили перекусить в этом ресторане. Так как все столики на открытом воздухе были заняты, нам предложили присесть внутри. Без вопросов согласились. Официанта ждали недолго. Посмотрев меню, определились с выбором. Наедаться сильно не хотелось, поэтому решили заказать несколько салатов, озвучили свои вкусы и пожелания. И вот тут началось… Оказалось, вы просто обязаны заказать главное блюдо (даже если не хотите), иначе уходите (такая себе политика «добровольно – принудительно»). Это где так заведено ? Как клиент, я имею право заказывать с меню все, что мне понравиться. Что ж, нас поставили перед фактом после того, как мы уже определились с выбором салатов… Честно ? Надо было встать и уйти. Салаты пришлось отменять (я уже не говорю о стоимости основных блюд – в 2-3 раза дороже салатов, в среднем 130-150 шек за блюдо). На вопрос «что собой представляет блюдо из крабов?» - ответ «Крабы – это крабы» - мы немного впали в ступор. На счет вкусно или нет отвечу так: каждый из нас не был в восторге от заказанных блюд, скорее всего разочарован. Греческий салат, который делается за 5 минут, был заказан для ребенка 17 лет со всеми блюдами в самом начале, принесли его в самом конце, и то пришлось напомнить дополнительно, когда уже доедали со своих тарелок. Я не раз бывал в Греции, и кушал вкусный греческий салат, но то, что принесли нам – это скорее всего напоминало гору чего то, посыпанную творогом. Я уже не говорю про чипсы, их вообще принесли еще позже салата… Это все бы ничего, если при счете в 734 шек при оплате кредитной картой в чеке было указана сумма в 1338 шек !!! Каким-то чудесным образом приписали 604 шек сверху. Это что, чаевые ??? Хорошо, что владелец кредитки просто посмотрел на чек при выходе… Пришлось быстро возвращаться в ресторан, выяснять как это получилось, просить возврат, и т.д. На просьбу хотя бы извиниться персонал ответил: почему и перед кем они должны приносить извинения? Сами понимаете, какое настроение и впечатления остались после такого ужина....
