Picchio Rosso — Restaurant in Agerola

Vi stopped by to buy some pizzas with oss home. The pizzas was absolutely horrible. It’s a wonder how they failed making them as an Italian. On my pizza I had some sausages, that tasted really old and strange. I believe it was a dog or cat meat! That pizza went straight away to the garbage bin. We bought another pizza with bacon. That was worse than the first one. I’m not a picky person at all but i couldn’t eat a bite of those pizzas. (Name of pizzas on the menu: Campagna and Geloso) I absolutely not recommend this restaurant. Take a five minutes walk and you will guaranteed find a better place to eat...

We ate here because the restaurant that was recommended to us was closed. It was the worst meal of our trip which was a real shame because Bomerano and The Path of the Gods were incredibly beautiful. The staff were incredibly unfriendly and didn't even speak to us or offer a table. Our server was slow and took an age to offer drinks. When the food did arrive it was greasy and tasteless. Local specialty (Pasta Puttanesca ) was made without tuna at first. Without any kind of apology they took the plate to the back for about 2 minutes to mix some canned tuna into the dish. They dropped the plate back off with no comment or even looking at us. 9€ for 3 slices of melon and 2 pieces of prosciutto just thrown onto a plate seems like a bit of a stretch too.
