Hotel Torre Vignola — Restaurant in Aglientu

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on our last evening of our holiday on Sardinia and the choice of restaurant definately suited the occasion.

We made an excellent choice with the wine which was served in a cooler and opened / presented expertly by the waiter.

Our starters were prepared really well and I was impressed with the cuison of the pulpo, nice, full of flavour and tender, which isn’t easy. The deepfried calamari and shrimps were clearly very fresh.

My son and I both had the Tagliata (beef) as a main, which was served on sizzle plate and accompanied by porchini mushrooms and smoked cheese… very tasty. The beef was only just seared shortly (I believe that’s the way this particular dish is m meant to be) which my son and I liked but I wonder if that’s appreciated by the less culinary inclined…

The tiramisu was well received by my son and GF and I really liked the Sardinian fried dessert filled with cheese and topped with honey…

If you are on the nearby campsite, are staying at the hotel or visiting the beach for the day and are looking for a quality restaurant, I would recommend to book a table...

I normally visit the area once/twice a year, and this year under the new management, we had a pleasant lunch next to the beach. We opted for some fresh seafood, and after ordering the octopus salad , grilled calamari , mussels & clams soup , we then ordered another octopus salad as it was very good 👌. Colazione da incubo. Ci sediamo in 4 e veniamo ignorati per diversi minuti. Il cameriere mi dice due volte sto arrivando. Richiamo quindi l'attenzione della cameriera con cui ho piu successo e finalmente ordiniamo. Il banco croissant è bello pieno. Iniziamo ad attendere l'arrivo della colazione ma i minuti passano, passano....Intanto i tavoli intorno a noi si riempiono di nuovi clienti che ordinano. Loro vengono serviti nel giro di poco, noi ancora nulla. Fermo il cameriere, gli spiego che qualcosa non va forse l'ordine è andato perso? Mi risponde "no, no" e nemmeno controlla. Vado sl banco, mi fanno vedere che la mia ordinazione é lì con altre ma nessuno mi spiega perchè stiano servendo chi si è appena seduto e non noi. Dopo 25 minuti da che ci diamo seduti arriva il cibo ma manca un croissant , era finito quel tipo. Certo! Bastava metterli da parte appena ordinati! Guardiamo il cibo arrivato, un cucchiaino è sporchissimo cosi come i tavoli che vengono sparecchiati ma mai puliti. Siamo persone semplici, ma non possiamo rinunciare a rispetto e l'igiene.
