Kitesurfers beware: New regulations (2024) prohibit kitesurfing on the beach of Vignola Mare during the summer bathing season (officially May until October, apparently enforced from June 15 until September 15). It's unfortunate that the coast guard has chosen this drastic and unreasonable measure. It's not clear if this will change in the future. Until then, kitesurfers should rather spend their time and money at other beaches that have a more reasonable approach allowing the coexistence of swimmers and kitesurfers.
Sign says: "We inform you that the PUL (Coastal Urban Plan) of the municipality of Aglientu for the Vignola Mare area provides for ONLY ONE LAUNCH CORRIDOR. Since the KITESURF activity includes a corridor intended only for it and since there is already a launch corridor for windsurfing and wing activities, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE for reasons of space and safety to install a specific corridor for the activity of KITESURFING. Sea is clean and beautifully azure but goes deep pretty quickly, not very suitable for small children. However there are some areas with shallow water near the rocks. There is also La Torra beach (left from camping beach) which is sandy and more shallow water. It's usually somewhat windy here which is common for northern part of Sardinia - which I find to be an advantage because it's not so humid and it makes the high temperatures more acceptable. All in all, we had a...

Quite area, not packaged. Everyone on the free side has plenty of space. Sun beds on paid side are very far apart.
Sand is made up of tiny stones instead of sand, so it doesn’t burn your feet to walk on.
Some sea algae on the beach but I'm not sure why people expect a beach to be spotless. It's nature, it's not like it's rubbish.
More west on the coast (about 45 minutes away) the waves were very big and strong. They are calmer here.
