Boia Fauss Pensavo Peggio — Restaurant in Alba

We arrived early, before 7 pm. It gets busy and noisy after 8 pm. I love the beers here. German style, clean and crisp, low in alcohol. In fact, it is easy to drink a couple of pints. This time, I had the Pils and the Pale Ale, both super but my friend had the Red Ale, and I've had the Stout too...all delish!

A board of mixed nibbles is included, but we also ordered a pizza between the two of us. I love this cheesy, saucy pizza.

The young staff is smiley and helpful. The atmosphere is casual and relaxing. We left feeling great after a long, tough week! It was Friday afternoon!

Sometimes, the smokers congregate in front of the entrance, so you can't avoid the smoke haze around the front door. However, if you sit further enough away and hold your breath when you walk through...

Excellent little micro-brewery bar. A 15 minute walk from Alba centre - think neighbourhood pub and locals, as opposed to overrun by tourists (...like me!). Funky retro-style interior design.

Good selection of well-priced draft beers from German style pilsner through amber/red/dark ale to stout. The stout was very pleasant. Alcohol level of the amber ale was 6.7° - so one was enough for me. Beers tasted well made, fresh and well cellared.

Friendly staff. Plenty of covered street-side seating.

Boia Gauss pensavo ... Meglio!! Pensavo molto meglio. Purtroppo il rapporto qualità/prezzo è stato decisamente deludente. L'hamburger è avvolto da un pane industriale stile veramente Mc Donald e il condimento, per il costo del prodotto, risulta misero misero con due bustine di salse che non prevedono nemmeno l'alternativa di una bustina di senape (chiesta al cameriere). Ma ciò che veramente mi ha fatto pensare "qui non tornerò più" è stato il comportamento poco corretto del personale. Antefatto: leggo che l'hamburger è accompagnato da "cipolle caramellate servite a parte" (come riportato dal menù). Decido di prenderlo essenzialmente per questo motivo (stravedo per le cipolle cotte in questo modo!). Senza nessuna comunicazione preliminare e senza una minima spiegazione nel momento in cui il cibo mi viene servito, vedo che "a parte" nella ciotola ci sono delle patate al forno e non le cipolle da me così tanto attese. Chiedo spiegazione dell'accaduto al cameriere, il quale mi risponde frettolosamente da dietro la porta della cucina, "ah mi dispiace, le abbiamo finite!". Punto. Non un "mi dispiace, ha ragione. Ci scusi perché non l'abbiamo avvisata prima dell'ordine" ecc ecc.. Mi sono sentita presa veramente in giro e trattata alla maniera della solita "polla a cui puoi rifilare tutto, intanto chissenefrega". Chissenefrega, ma intanto io non ci tornerò più in questo locale e sicuramente non consiglierò certo a qualcuno di entrare in un pub dove, non solo non si mangia bene per quel che si spende, ma soprattutto si viene trattati come "fessi". Peccato! Il posto è anche carino come location, ma certo questo non...
