Paradise — Restaurant in Alghero

We were seated at a table and waited about 20 minutes to be able to order the first time (drinks). Because it took so long, we also ordered the food at the same time. The first beer we ordered came from another waiter. He had to ask again what my girlfriend had ordered (the waitress had written it down beforehand). We had a shared appetizer, but the pizza came to the table even though we hadn't finished eating. The plates were taken away and only the plate with the food was left there. To get the bill, it also took about 15-20 minutes and the waitress left so quickly that I didn't have a chance to say that we wanted to pay by card when she brought us the bill. I wasn't willing to wait any longer, so I took the bill and paid directly at the bar.

Disappointing Experience Despite Good Food

We were really looking forward to trying this place, and to be fair, the food was very good and the portions generous. However, there were a couple of things that really ruined the experience for us.

First, they don’t serve pizza before 7 PM — in Italy, of all places! We came for lunch hoping to enjoy a proper pizza, only to be told it’s not available until the evening. That’s honestly baffling and disappointing.

Second, despite the restaurant being mostly empty, we were told to sit at a long table between two other couples. The waiter claimed he needed the space in case more people arrived, but it felt awkward and made no sense when there were several empty tables available. It felt like we were being pushed into an uncomfortable setup for no good reason.

Disappointing experience at Bar Paradise. We, as a family, sat in the bar for 45 minutes, waiting for the official opening time of 6 PM as advertised. Despite repeatedly asking the staff when they would open, they kept confirming 6 PM. After 20 minutes, they then told us it would be another 10 minutes because they were still waiting for the boss to arrive. Meanwhile, our child was thirsty, and we wanted to order some drinks and enjoy our time together.

To make matters worse, two other guests arrived during our wait and suddenly received drinks. When we asked why they were served and we weren’t, the staff replied that it was a special exception they couldn’t make for us. This was really disappointing and completely unacceptable.
