Il Bombardino — Restaurant in Alghero

Position: one of three nice bars/restaurants along one of the most famous beaches in the natural parc in Alghero. The only one open and with a running kitchen late in the evening in late September (thanks to the chef flexibility)! Place: nice terrace with view on the sea (see pic) Product: nice food and wine Personnel/people: we were basically the only clients and could enjoy some talks with the waiters, who kindly shared plenty of info on must-visit spots around the area Price: fair for a restaurant in the beach Pity: some mosquitos, but was raining the day before, so it's nobody's...

First time we have been angry at a restaurant/eating place. 3/5 food. 3/5 serving (although very impatient servers). Price 2/5. We paid 80€ for 4 plates of unfulfilling food and 4 drinks (cola, water and beer).

Compared to a few days ago where we paid 180€ for 4 persons meal with 4 dishes AND wine at a 4 star hotel.

We confront them that they charge 6€ just for eating there and 10% in tip. And we cannot even choose not to place a tip. And they semi-rudely answer that ‘that’s how it is in Italy’.

Great little restaurant right down by the beach. Variety of food to choose from. Today we had linguine and mussels and fried calamari with fries along with mista salad. A couple of cocktails thrown in for the heck of it. Good service and the food was fantastic coming in from a small kitchen in the location. Well worth the short drive from Alghero. We’ve found that if you go to lunch before 14:00, you’ll rarely have a problem getting a sit and better chance at good service....
