Ristorante Pizzeria Sa petta — Restaurant in Alghero

We went to the restaurant tonight in the hope of a great evening with good food and wine. After we sat down, we have choosen the bootle of wine, starter and meat. The bottle of wine which we have choosen was around 23€, but it was not available. So the waiter came back with a different bootle as a suggestion which seemed to be fine for us, since we thought it would be in the same price range. However, he did not tell us the price and then the suprise came with paying the bill. The suggested bottle of wine was 70€! That is really disproportionate to a wine we actually ordered for 23€. The starter (lasagne) was really good! Also my Filet beef was amazing! But unfortunately the Tagliata of my wife was really tough and unenjoyable. After saying this to the waitress, she came back and ask for a dessert. We thought that this is for free as an apology for the “bad” meat. But no, that was not the case…. They’re just salesmen. The only good thing here was the wine. They were out of stock of most of the good meat, so they just served whatever they had, despite us clearly stating our requirements. It’s not right to be treated this way. When they made a mistake, they brought us something else and still charged us for it. There were two of us, so there should have been two main courses, but they charged us for three. It feels like they were taking advantage of us because we’re tourists. Me and my family have been coming to Alghero for 30 years and we were happy to try somewhere close to our flat rather than the centre, for a change. It was quiet to start but was happy to see the place fill up as the evening went on. Our waiter spoke great English and was very helpful in making suggestions. Fresh meat and cheeses on display.
