Finding Royal Alghero has been one of the highlights of my time in Alghero. I can easily say that they serve the best pastries I've ever had. Everyday there is an unique selection of treats that never seems to disappoint. The cornetto di albicocca, torta melinda, fritelle, and diplomatico are all amazing. Best of all is their girella viennese which is without a doubt a must try in Alghero. Alessio, Stefano, and Antonio are all extremely welcoming and talented at creating a perfect cafe atmosphere. As an American studying in Alghero this summer, the staff has been extremely welcoming and has treated me just like family from the very first day. Besides that, we had a wonderful time with the two brothers who run this traditional family business. I don't want to repeat all the other good reviews, but one thing that we noticed is the good vibe and nice hospitality that make you feel warmly welcomed and like one of the regulars. There are always Italians passing in and out for coffee and something sweet or a toast. It all feels very pleasant and easygoing. A good family business that they can be proud of. It's a good stop for sweets and coffee, and there's free parking along and across the street you find plenty parking lots....
Read moreI was here with my kids and it was a great experience. The café was lovely and had a lot of charm. We had some amazing ice coffees and some tasty baked goods. The owner was very nice and helpful. We walked around in the neighbourhood afterwards and could not find a taxi or a bus and ended up going back to the café to ask for directions to the nearest taxi stand.
