I went to this restaurant with three of my friends from Taiwan while visiting Anzio. La Vela Latina was one of the best seafood restaurants I’ve ever been to.

First of all, the location of this restaurant is impeccable; you can see the sea from the restaurant if you were seated outside. In addition, the food was prepared with passion because each plate was well-designed and presented. We especially enjoyed the appetizers because some of which were novel to us; the seafoods were very fresh and were still alive when we arrived at the restaurant, so it was a safe and interesting experience to eat them raw. Besides the food, the white wine served was gewürztraminer from Italy; it was surprisingly tasty, albeit not a typical Italian grape variety. Moreover, the desserts, of course, did not disappoint us: home-made tiramisu and fruit-chocolate cake completed this symphony.

Lastly, the staff were all very helpful and made the dining experience smooth and flawless. It is a restaurant that I...

Great seafood and great service at reasonable prices. Casual dinning that is a cut above the other restaurants in the area. You could easily spend a few hours there enjoying the various dishes.

Luckily we were assisted by someone that spoke english which helped us to try things we probably would not have otherwise. We can highly recommend the cold and hot tasters dish which includes small portions of several different types of fish and shellfish. The calamari is also a treat.

The only negative was the steak which was not seasoned at all although it was cooked perfectly. In La Vela Latina's defence, the server did say that they specialise in seafood.

Our children enjoyed the food too although you wouldn't be able to sit there for hours with children as there is no place for them to play or keep busy. You won't find burgers and fries here.

Lastly the desserts are an absolute treat! Save some space because you'll be sorry...

This is the best food I had in Italy. I came here during a work trip with a few coworkers. My boss is a foodie who never goes to the same restaurant twice when traveling, but we went here 3 times in one week. The staff were always friendly and made phenomenal recommendations. If I come back to Rome or Naples, I'll take a train just to eat dinner here again.
