Speakeasyarona — Restaurant in Arona

Disgraceful, they write on the menu that café products could not be served (occasionally) after 6pm, then when asked a Café Shekerato at 5:30 the café desk is closed already, they don't even try to offer something to excuse the negligence, they just accept you won't be taking anything from the menu instead (turists traps knowing tomorrow you won't be a customer either way). Moreover, out of the 3 cocktails of the table one was undrinkable, one had 90% ice (despite it being marked as 'served without ice'), and only one was acceptable. The snacks served with the happy hour are served without any supplements to help eating, even though the bowls with snacks are shared (a couple of toothpicks would have saved the day). My take is that they close the café after 5pm to avoid having to let people spend 2€ for a café and add just 2€ to contribute for the table shared snack cutting board. On top of that, when questioned about an ingredient of a cocktail, they took the order and commanded it before coming back and solving the inquiry. They act maliciously, and fail to even follow the recipes they have on their own menù. Summed up, the service is poor, the quality of the food is average, the quality of the cocktails (for those few we could try) is low, the pricetags are average for the place, but definitely exaggerated for the experience, the quantity (mind the ice where it shouldn't be) and the quality.

Ok. The coffee (Espresso) was thin (sorry, it was the worst coffee in Arona I had), the Ginseng coffee was even thinner, the music was annoying and annoyingly loud. At 11 AM in the morning I really don't see the point in spanglish party music. Obviously this is a bar that wants to attract a very young audience, maybe it's fun, if you're young and like to drink and hook up. Though the bar is beautifully situated in the shade of trees, with lake view, it's simply not the right place for families, couples (esp. when they are over 30), coffee lovers or people who just want to...

Sono stata in questo bar qualche giorno fa con la mia famiglia. Il bar è praticamente un "chioschetto" con a disposizione i coperti nel dehor. Un ragazzo ci ha d'atto accomodare ad un tavolo e ci ha portato le liste per le bevande alcoliche e analcoli etc. La lista è fatta molto bene con ampia scelta tra cocktail alcolici e analcolici. L'unica cosa che mi ha lasciata un po' perplessa è stata la scritta sulla lista "Non chiedeteci lo spritz" perché loro non fanno il classico spritz, il ché secondo me non è molto giusto perché se un cliente volesse ordinare un classico spritz in questo locale non lo potrà avere. Comunque ordiniamo un bicchiere di Franciacorta Saten, due cocktail ancolici "pinkie" e un altro cocktail analcolico "Sobetto". I cocktail veramente buonissimi, soprattutto perché erano analcolici e di solito è difficile trovare in giro cocktail analcoli un po' più elaborati. Gli stuzzichini per l'aperitivo erano buonissimi, sono stati serviti su un tagliere c'erano: un cestino di patatine classiche (che sembrano però un po' vecchie), un cestino di triangolini di mais, alcuni anelli di cipolla fritti, dei crostini di pane con delle fettine di mortadella, monoporzione di pasta fredda e una salsina ai peperoni e pomodo un po' piccantina. Il tutto era molto buono. Secondo me un buon aperitivo. Unica pecca: è pieno di piccioni che volano anche sui tavoli. Tra l'altro ho assistito a una scena un po' "brutta" in cui due clienti si sono alzati dal tavolo per andare via lasciando alcuni stuzzichini dell'aperitivo che sono stati presi subito all'assalto dai piccioni. Spero che i taglieri e tutto quanto vengano lavati ed igienizzati a dovere. Fossi in voi farei qualcosa per questa situazione...
