Ristorante Vecchia Arona — Restaurant in Arona

The food is very good. We took carbonara and ravioli, desert, good wine to pair. The only thing which has to improve is the quality of the service and the attention for details. I travel around the world very often due to the nature of my job and reading all these reviews I was having high expectations. We were the youngest people in the restaurant so maybe that’s why the waiters (which they seem that they do this job for a long time, so they should be professional ) they didn’t performed a service compared with the older customers. We arrived faster than other tables , ready to order but still they took the order of other tables. They brought an appetizer from the house - sepia pates- which was good but not for my pregnant wife. I told them that she is pregnant she will not eat they didn’t said anything- I was not expecting to bring something else but to say something. I ordered wine , the waiter is asking if she doesn’t want as well? Restaurant food yes is good according with other reviews , but service must be improved - or maybe the attention to the details. Also if we are younger than the rest of your customers, it doesn’t mean that the service should...

This restaurant is a gem located in the heart of Arona. The attention to detail of each dish by the chef is amazing. Table reservation is recommended as many tourists as well as locals are dining here.

Carbonara 5/5 Guanciale was delicious and and too fatty. Al denta pasta with creamy carbonara sauce.

Ravioli 4/5 Delicate composition of beans and Ravioli. Tender and light mixture combined with fresh pasta.

Seafood soup 5/5 Excellent and dense sea food taste. The sauce was reduced to a perfect level garnished with squid, fish and octopus. This dish is highly recommended.

Linguine Lobster 3/5 The lobster meat and sauce was delicate. However the pasta was too hard. Maybe 1min more and it would have reached the al dente level

Wine: good wine pairing to food selection

Service: attentive and friendly service. Accomodating to customer needs are being put on the highest priority.

Dined in, lunch menu. Visited for Easter, set menu, great options, friendly and professional staff.

Took us about 2h 30m to go through all the servings, wine selection was ample and the service was 5*. The servings were coming out at the right speed, didn't feel rushed. The chef came out to greet us which is always a nice touch.

Starters to dessert, everything was great and very well cooked, one of the dishes had tuna and I must say it was the best tuna I've tried, soft and not dry at all, it was literally melting in your mouth.

Cost wise it wasn't excessive and well worth the price when you consider the quality of the food, the location and the service.

If you're driving, there's plenty of parking space in the area.
