Forra Bonu — Restaurant in Augusta

This restaurant was recommended by the owners of the villa where were were staying. They were not wrong. It is not pretentious, but the owner is passionate about cooking and food and the young lady behind the bar is passionate about wine and together, they make an amazing combination. We were in the area for three days and we ate here every night.. The first night, we had a pizza, but after that we tried a variety of the local fish dishes. Every meal was cooked to perfection and each night, we let the young lady pick the wine for us. Her choice was superb, the wines were beautiful and on each occasion, they complemented the meal. She did not take advantage of my leaving the choice to her and twice she made her choice from the cheapest wines on the menu and only once did she recommended paying a little more. The service was good. The staff were attentive, but not over bearing. We visited the area in March so they were not very busy and we had the chance to talk to the owner. We speak a little Italian and he speaks reasonable English, so it was interesting to learn about the local dishes and the wine. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We ordered 8 pizzas, which arrived in 35 minutes. The pizzas were great, with no issues regarding taste or quality. The service was nice and friendly, making the overall experience pleasant. It seems that the old negative reviews are outdated, as our experience was very good. Additionally, they provided a detailed bill without us having to ask, which was a nice touch. NON FATEVI FREGARE ! premetto di essere stato aiutante cuoco per più di un anno nella vita e questo è decisamente il peggior ristorante della Sicilia in cui abbia mai "mangiato", barriere architettoniche ( scale ) sia all ingresso che per andare negli sporchi bagni, pareti con muffa e scrostate, la cosa più raccapricciante e squallida però è stato il tentativo pazialmente riuscito da parte del proprietario di fregarci con i prezzi : piatto salsiccia patate e insalata ( patate fredde e spezzettate, la poca insalata moscia senza che la cameriera ci abbia portato alcun condimento, la salsiccia mal cotta così come le polpette di cavallo e con un cattivo retrogusto ) conto fatto con calcolatrice e rincarato di 2 euro per ogni pietanza rispetto al menù, 3 EURO DI COPERTO A TESTA PER AVERE TOVAGLIOLI DI CARTA E 3 FETTE DI PANE, PREZZI NON INDICATI IN MENÙ COSÌ COME 7 EURO PER UN CALICE DI VINO ANONIMO. Fatto notare le discrepanze al titolare che facendo il finto tonto ha corretto di alcuni euro il totale sfogliando il suo stesso menù. Insomma 3 Euro di coperto li ho pagati volentieri in diversi ristoranti anche stellati. NON CI SIAMO PROPRIO, io mia moglie e mio figlio ce ne siamo andati via amareggiati e credo che questa volta proprio per principio tenterò di contattare telefonicamente le autorità del Comune così come la guardia di finanza di provincia in quanto i prezzi VANNO TASSATIVAMENTE SPECIFICATI IN MENÙ.
