Ristorante Stravento — Restaurant in Augusta

An extremely unpleasant man 'welcomed' us at the entrance. I wanted to ask if we could have a mix of salads and fish as I don't eat much fish but my partner does, and I was happy to accompany him and eat salads or even some calamari. The man didn't give me a chance to finish my question, ranting about the fact that his was an exclusively fish restaurant and that if I wanted something slightly different I had to go elsewhere and there was no point in my standing there. This after we had already booked a table. I would add that I am half Italian and speak it fluently, which means this wasn't a language issue. Absolutely wouldn't recommend, being part of the service industry means learning to have a minimum of politeness towards customers....

First place we visited when we arrived to Sicily and made a stop here as we were on our way to Noto. What a pleasant surprise, the place has a very nice location next to the water, making it peaceful and not a lot of people to sit so you never feel overwhelmed. The food quality was excellent and price obviously is higher than the average restaurant, but the quality is there. Everything was excellent, and we’re still dreaming of those mussels and pasta. Eccellente e ottima location In una calda giornata di giugno, per un pranzo di coppia abbiamo scelto questo ristorante, avendo letto di una terrazza sul mare e sperando nella ventilazione evocata dal nome. Speranza confermata, avendo potuto godere del fresco assicurato dall’esposizione, dalla copertura della terrazza, lambita dal mare nella bella baia di Brucoli, e da un venticello che ci ha accolto e accompagnato gradevolmente per tutto il pranzo. Riguardo a quest’ultimo, il giudizio che se ne può dare è di eccellenza. A fronte di un menù di mare non sovrabbondante di offerte (e già questo è un pregio per un ristorante di questo target), il proprietario (gentilissimo e molto comunicativo) ci ha consigliato un antipasto di polpo, che è stato servito intero, tiepido al punto giusto, saporitissimo anche grazie a una lessatura perfetta e a un condimento giustamente calibrato. Altrettanto possiamo dire per il secondo, con una ricciola alla fiamma, freschissima e anche questa molto ben cucinata e condita, accompagnata da una fresca e gustosa insalata di pomodorini con capperi, cipolla e ricotta salata. Il tutto bagnato da due calici di bianco ottimo (non essendo grandi bevitori, l’offerta di un buon calice anziché la classica bottiglia è stata molto apprezzata). Finale con tiramisù molto buono e un gradevolissimo bicchierino di rosolio alla cannella. Un plauso ai ragazzi che hanno assicurato un servizio attento e discreto e al proprietario, di cui si è già detto. Prezzo 55€ a persona, ampiamente meritati.
