Via Tasso Caffe 4.5 — Restaurant in Bergamo

Aesthetically, I much preferred this cafe before it's recent refurbishment but it has been updated to look more modern which most people will no doubt see as a positive. As it had changed management I did check the prices before ordering. A Spritz was on the menu for £8/£9 at happy hour-in line with inflation aperativo prices are on the rise, but this is still at the slightly higher end for Bergamo. On ordering I was not asked if I wanted aperativo with my drink so just waited to see what came out. Initially the drink was served with nothing at all and there was a long crack on the glass-these things can happen and when I pointed it out the waiter went to change it (although the new drink did seem weaker). Only then (and perhaps after they saw me eyeing the aperativo of those on the next table) was I asked if I wanted some kind of aperativo. I said some crisps would be fine and some olives were brought along too. Thankfully I was just charged the £8 but that still seems a bit steep for just crisps and olives. I don't usually leave reviews but I have lived in Bergamo for 3 years and you can really do much better for your money. I'm sure it will be popular...

Found this place as it was serving at a time (3-5pm) when almost every other nearby restaurant was not serving.

There were a few vegetarian options that were excellent. Incredibly tasty soup with great pasta and lentils options too.

A special mention for the cappuccinos too - really delicious and distinctive!
