Gelato al Quadrato — Restaurant in Bergamo

The worst experience that I had in a gelateria in my visit to Italy. Unfriendly staff, I order 3 flavors when I asked for pistacchio the staff asked me if I wanted the "salty" or the "sweet" one, I immediately asked for the sweet one (because i didn't want a savory gelato), however the "sweet" one is not the regular pistacchio gelato, and was awful, besides that I asked to her put the pistache first in a cone and she refused and said that the gelato could fall down, but it fall down anyways. If the cone is not sutiable for 3 flavors you should take it away from the menu, because she seems don't like to prepare with 3 flavors. By the way, my husband ordered the "salty" pistacchio so I had the opportunity to try and was just the regular pistacchio one (not salty at all) if you want a pistacchio gelato, just order the regular one (is not salty, as they said) is just a normal pistacchio gelato. Leaving this place with a smile I was saying to myself that this is most probably the best gelato I had in my life. I visit Italy at least twice per year and I always try to taste new places and find hidden gems. Al Quadrato is one of these places. Their gelato was out of this world. Their classic flavors were more than tasty. But they also add a bit of a twist that surprises you so pleasantly. Nocciola was top tier, but, please, everyone should try the mango flavor. In a good few trips to Italy (and far too much Gelato) I can honestly say this was some of the very best I have ever tasted. We were only in Bergamo for a couple of days (what a city by the way!) and took a chance to call in on night one. The Milanese gelato was incredible, creamy with a fantastic taste but when you find the puffed rice inside it’s like a fantastic chewy marshmallow. Needless to say we went back on day two.
