BACLAS — Restaurant in Bologna

As many other reviewers have done before - we stayed at the Best Western across the street and needed food as soon as we arrived in Bologna. The hotel restaurant was closed so we were told about this gem. Wow! Vincenzo was very friendly and provided English menus. Lactose Free mozzarella allowed my wife and I to share a fantastic pizza. We had to go back a second time. We did Sunday pasta night. Vincenzo recommended the Gran Tortellone (see the picture. Definitely NOT lactose free). It was soooo good! Highly recommend. Taste to price ratio is definitely great! The food was really tasteful, there was a nice selection and it was in our top two for the whole Italy trip. The prices were very friendly and the portion sizes were perfect. Fruti Di Mare dish was generous, unlike most restaurants we've tried.

The service was a little confusing at times as english was a struggle and one order was forgotten. However, they were willing to cook for us even though we came half an hour before their afternoon siesta.

We had only 2 nights stay in Bologna and decided to eat at the closest restaurant to our nearby hotel at BW and we’re glad we chose Beclas. Great food, friendly staff, specially Vincenzo who made us feel so welcomed. I had the Pulpo with chicory and fava bean sauce and my wife had the spaghetti ala scoglio with calamari, clams.
