L'etrusca Bistrot — Restaurant in Bomarzo

Very disappointing, and that is a major understatement. I had booked a table for 10 and the family of 5 did not show up at the last minute without advising us up till the very last. Understandably, the owner was not pleased; what is not understandable is thar he gave us a rant and incredibly he came around at least another two times grumbling behind our backs (not sure if he didn't realise we overheard and understood or if he did it on purpose) throughout our meal. Mains took almost an hour to arrive. The food was OK but in 5 days we definitely ate better in all the other places we had been to. Not sure how exactly how such a place got such a high rating, unless of course we were being "punished" for showing up instead of not coming at all like the others did. Clearly, they did...

Una piacevole scoperta in un borgo antico. Arrivati per cena con un amico, siamo stati accolti dal personale con cortesia e simpatia, il ristorante si trova incastonato in una via del borgo di Bomarzo, da un lato è sovrastato dalle antiche mura delle case, dall'altro si gode di una stupenda vista panoramica sulla valle del Tevere, i tavoli sono ben distanziati tra loro, il che garantisce l'intimità e la riservatezza tra commensali. Abbiamo iniziato con un cocktail, la scelta è vasta, ed un prosecco, entrambi veramente buonissimi, vi consiglio l'Etrusco Mule (una versione rivisitata del Moscow Mule). Ottimo l'antipasto misto composto di vari salumi, formaggi accompagnati da delle confetture e da dei fritti croccanti ed asciutti, dopodiché siamo passati ai secondi, coniglio ed agnello entrambi buonissimi ed anche belli da vedere nell'impiattamento, semplice ed elegante, conclusa la cena con il più tradizionale dei dolci,.un ottimo tiramisù come non ne mangiavo da tempo. In tutto quello che ho mangiato si sente la freschezza dei prodotti usati e la ricerca della materia prima. L'Etrusca Bistrot è uno dei pochi ristoranti rimasti dove si può notare la passione per il proprio lavoro, perché nulla è lasciato al caso, tutto molto pulito e curato, un luogo adatto per passare una serata spensierata che si tratti di coppie, famiglie o gruppi di amici. Ci tornerò sicuramente e sarà mia cura consigliarlo, con la certezza di fare...

Delicious food and sights! During my holiday I was recommended the restaurant by a local and then returned for a second night. The food was delicious and as a vegetarian I was glad to see the menu showed all allergens and such clearly. The staff were so lovely and helpful, and as a bonus the view of the hills and trees was so beautiful to watch as evening turned into night....
