La Fraschetta degli Antichi Sapori — Restaurant in Bomarzo

I visited La Fraschetta degli Antichi Sapori with my sister during a visit in the area. The restaurant is located in an old building which stays fresh even during summer. The menu consisted of typical dishes from the area which manly included meat. I chose a platter of local cheeses which were incredibly tasty and diverse. My main dish was the popular cacio e pepe which I found absolutely superb, especially for the type of pasta which I never tried before and was perfectly al dente. The only remark I could give to the pasta was that it could have been warmer, aside from this I was still very satisfied with my choice. Sono stato ieri con amici sono stato qui, è una location itinerante,si parte dalla sala interna ( molto fresca) e poi si continua all'esterno lungo un vicolo fino a una piccola terrazza panoramica ( vista sul centro storico e su tutta la vallata circostante. Ci è stato dato un tavolo su questa terrazza che presenta dei problemi per mangiare, i tavoli non sono in piano quindi le bottiglie scivolano e stare seduti è scomodo ( ci hanno detto che hanno la domanda in corso per mettere delle pedane di legno che risolvano questo problema, ma l'iter burocratico come sappiamo è lungo). Un'altro problema sono tavoli e sedie di ferro che nonostante i vari ombrelloni posizionati quando finiscono sotto al sole diventano roventi (consiglio di mettere sulle sedute qualcosa che eviti il contatto diretto con il corpo). Il servizio è ammirevole e attento, considerando la distanza dalla cucina,( non ci hanno fatto mai mancare le bevande fresche , ieri era molto caldo). Il tempo di attesa dall'ordine che prendono subito è di circa mezz'ora. Il menù spazia molto su proposte di specialità locali, antipasti con salumi e formaggi ottimi(la maggior parte dei formaggi, accompagnati da marmellate e fettine di frutta candita sono a pasta molle dal sapore molto forte, non a tutti può piacere,a me sono piaciuti moltissimo). Per i primi avrei gradito trovare anche dei piatti tradizionali per una fraschetta ( carbonara, gricia, cacio e pepe, amatriciana) comunque abbiamo preso lasagne con ragù bianco e lombrichi nocciole e salsiccia che ci hanno soddisfatto. Per i secondi la carne è locale e il prezzo (6,50 all'etto) è più che onesto, considerando anche la qualità della materia prima. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è giusto (forse anche basso). Noi abbiamo preso un tagliere di salumi e uno di formaggi che ci siamo divisi e un primo a testa 5 bottiglie di acqua spendendo 20 euro a testa. Siamo usciti soddisfatti e se dovessimo tornare a Bomarzo torneremo a provare la carne ( se nel frattempo hanno sistemato a dovere la terrazza panoramica). Consiglio...

Amazing food and atmosphere in a lovely historic courtyard. Our waitress was so helpful and translated every item on the menu into English for us tourists, and patiently answered the silly questions from our group like "what kind of pasta is this" 😅 This was above and beyond - we did not expect that and it was really lovely! All the food was amazing, both the pasta and the meats. The veal skewers were particularly delicious, with zucchini sides (how do you make a simple zucchini this good?!) but we also tried the lasagna and the homemade burger.
