Excellent authentic food by the fireplace. (No pizza.) Everything about this place just worked. Found the restaurant in the ancient streets. We got seats by the fireplace. Bread is made fresh in the restaurant in the fireplace in the morning. We came twice and had both the fish and and the meat menu. Lots of interesting tastes. All convincingly fresh and authentic. Verezzi è un luogo magico, famoso per il suo festival teatrale, il suo fascino autentico e non intaccato dal cemento che dilaga lungo la costa, i sentieri, la natura ancora selvaggia, la pace che regala al cuore e all’anima di chi sa fermarsi. In questo contesto mancava una cucina guidata da ragazzi giovani, attenti e capaci, legati al territorio ma con la voglia di svecchiare, senza stravolgerlo, uno dei locali storici del borgo. Abbiamo assaggiato piatti dove il mar ligure incontra il mediterraneo e le sue essenze, pesce fresco, presidi e prodotti locali, ben cucinati e ben presentati, nelle quantità giuste e ad un prezzo sicuramente non paragonabile alla gestione precedente ma che tiene conto della qualità e dell’attenzione alla materia prima. Un antipasto di crudo di pesce che va bene per due persone, due ottimi primi piatti di mare, un dolce, il tutto accompagnato da un buon rossese vinificato rosè. Qualità davvero ottima e preparazioni ben realizzate. La giusta spinta in avanti senza la presunzione di dimenticare le proprie radici. La spesa è stata di circa 50€ a testa, compreso caffè e digestivo. Un luogo che dovrà farsi conoscere e precisare la sua identità ma che parte con un ottimo potenziale espresso nel menù che abbiamo avuto modo di esplorare. The setting is beautiful, the staff friendly and welcoming but the food was terrible. Over-cooked shrimp too soft tortellini with a few baby tomatoes thrown in. Was that even fresh tortellini with real shrimp? What happened to Al dente? A 3 part dish - one with asparagus, one with cod, one with ham. Tiny ´nouvelle cuisiné’e ´ portions with no taste.
