Beach & Restaurant — Restaurant in Bracciano

The photos looked gorgeous so my husband and I decided to go for lunch since Google Maps showed it was open. When we arrived, a woman was sitting at a table doing paperwork and never acknowledged us. We also passed an office where a man looked up from his computer, saw us, and went right back to work without saying anything. It became obvious they weren’t open and that Google’s hours were incorrect, but to not say a simple “non aperto/not open” felt very rude. We didn’t expect them to speak English, of course, but even a quick acknowledgment in Italian would have been appreciated. The silence came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming, which was disappointing given how beautiful the location looked.

Quando siamo arrivati, una donna era seduta a un tavolo a fare delle pratiche e non ci ha mai rivolto la parola. Siamo passati anche davanti a un ufficio dove un uomo, dopo averci guardato dal computer, ha continuato a lavorare senza dire nulla. Era chiaro che il locale fosse chiuso e che gli orari su Google fossero sbagliati, ma non dire neanche un semplice “non aperto” è sembrato scortese. Excellent place to stay and eat and spend a great, sunny day on the lake. My wife and I rented two chairs + umbrella from the nautical center and ordered drinks at the restaurant, and it was paradise on earth. You can even rent sails and other equipment.
