Idroscalo Bracciano — Restaurant in Bracciano

We’ve been spending several summer Saturdays and Sundays at this wonderful lake restaurant where you can also rent umbrellas and sun beds. I really love how you can eat and just go for a little swim few minutes later. They have a lot of fresh fish on the menu which I totally recommend but anything I’ve tried so far from pasta, pizza and vegetable dishes has been exceptional.

The prices are not the cheapest, definitely also not expensive but in the return the quality is incredible and the portions are VERY, VERY generous.

Compared to beach places like Fregene it’s definitely way less chaotic also in July and August and for example you don’t have to pay for parking as there is a very big free parking nearby. The staff is young and super friendly, always smiling and willing to help. Not sure what went wrong with the previous reviews complaining about service…we never ever had any issues.

"Hi. We've just had a couple of drinks and need to head back to the train station. It's 30 degrees C, the station is a mile uphill and one of our party is in her 80s. Can you phone a taxi as Uber has let us down?"

Update following reply from owners. According to them, helping a customer in distress (one of whom is in her 80s) with a simple request to phone for a taxi is nothing to do with an evaluation of their services. I disagree, and I wonder whether a change of career from hospitality to something more befitting such an attitude might be a good move. Prison commandant perhaps?

Maybe "customer service" means something different to the owners. Luckily, there was a place just up the road which recognised our predicament and sorted out a...

Esperienza pessima. Siamo andati per lo spettacolo delle Pin Up (spettacolo carino), ma il cibo e il servizio sono stati un disastro! • Servizio e pane a 3€ a testa: eravamo in sei e ci è stato portato un piccolo cestino di pane solo dopo averlo richiesto, e per giunta a fine primo piatto e dopo le insalate. • L’acqua è arrivata dopo più di un’ora di attesa (mezz’ora per ordinare e mezz’ora per ricevere il primo), e solo perché l’abbiamo sollecitata nuovamente noi. • I primi piatti promettono bene sulla carta, ma purtroppo sono risultati davvero poco saporiti. • Le fritture erano immangiabili: mal fritte e piene d’olio. • Le insalate avevano pochissima sostanza, oltre all’insalata stessa, e sono state servite senza alcun condimento, che peraltro non era neanche presente a tavola. • Avevamo un commensale celiaco e avevamo chiesto un’insalata senza piadina; ci è stata invece servita con la piadina sotto. Per fortuna ce ne siamo accorti subito!

Abbiamo espresso il nostro disappunto a una cameriera gentile (che purtroppo non era quello che ci seguiva, dato che quest’ultimo è stato praticamente inesistente). La cameriera ha riportato i problemi e ci sono state tolte dal conto le fritture (che non avevamo effettivamente mangiato, così come l’insalata scondita, che però è stata comunque pagata).

Un disastro totale! Nota positiva: abbiamo almeno una storia tragicomica...
