Our room was at the ground floor at the end of the brand-new building block away from the restaurant. Therefore we cannot rate the other, older rooms in the main building. We were able to park our car right in front of our terrace which was very comfortable.
The room itself was spotlessly clean. We have been told we were one of the first guests – everything from bathroom to furniture looked and even smelled very new. A small fridge allows to cool a couple of water bottles / drinks.
The staff (the hotel and restaurant is run by a family) was very friendly. Unfortunately we missed to have a pizza there but it looked very good (they seem to have a wood-fired oven).
The terrace (covered by the balcony of the first floor) is shared with the next room (great for larger groups: the rooms had a connecting door that of course were closed in our case) and allowed to sit outside even during a slightly rainy day. It is just a short walk to the long Budoni beach, in fact you can even see the ocean from the terrace (see photo). For those who does not want to go inside their room too sandy there are a few outdoor showers. At the check-in counter you can get ice-cream and cold drinks.
One of the advantages (parking right in front of the room) has a down-side: If other guests are arriving very late with their cars it could get a bit noisy.
Since the area around the new building is still developed the view from the terrace shows a construction site and undeveloped ground (see photo). It would be nice if there will be some plants in the future. The main building / restaurant appears more as a snack bar rather than...
Read moreAt least waiters were nice and helpful but the rest were unfortunately not so good. Tuna tartare were sliced in 2 cm pieces with long fat rests and mango sauce tasted like artificial sauce from the market bottle:( risotto with pawns was just a pulpe of rice with not so much taste, we thought that we would find some gambas inside but there were just two, big prawns which somebody can like but we felt like eating just rice… pizza was okay. Waiters didn’t give one of us cutlery and nobody have seen it… There was a plant next to out table with lots of cigarettes inside of the pot… I know that it is not 5* restaurant but it was definitely seen that there were too many guests for waiters so they needed to go for quantity, not quality of the food and customer service… what’s more I got pizza after few minutes and the rest of the group were waiting much longer without any food… and the end we asked for a bill but we were waiting so long that I went to a waiter to pay on a bar but he didn’t know what we ordered, I needed to tell the waiter...
Read moreI'm disappointed in myself for submitting this review so late. We visited at the end of August/beginning of September. In our 10 day visit to Budoni and surrounding cities, Stella Marina has become our heaven for breakfast and lunch. We did not find any other restaurant we had wanted to visit more than once, however this place just kept on giving. The service was decent and somewhat professional, the terrace offers vast amount of seating options and the food was absolutely stunning. My mouth is watering as I'm writing this review. All portions were generous and pricing reflective of the quality and value for money. We were excited with the variety of this establishment. They were also open all day long with a reduced menu between lunch and dinner. I'm including photos from multiple visits. Trust that all meals were thoroughly enjoyed not just by us but also our friends who hosted us on this beautiful island. Thank you, could not recommend dining at...
