Mamo Pizza — Restaurant in Cagliari

I've eaten a lot of pizza. New York pizza has it's own greatness. Chicago deepdish. Pan pizza. And thin crust. For thin crust this was by far the best pizza I've ever had in Italy and world over. Small local joint barely spoke English but they were accommodating for our inability to speak Italian. Had a fantastic beer selection and decent wines as far as I know about cheap Italian wines (not much). They were so sweet that they even made us a Nutella pizza without telling us. Just to surprise us when we got home. Seriously these guys were amazing! The pizza was beyond excellent. It was delicious with exactly the right amount of toppings and sauce. I find here in Italy they tend to have less sauce and fewer toppings but this had a perfect amount without making the bread the least bit soggy. The types of pizza are very tested forward. They have classics with fresh dry sausage and artichokes we tried the fig pizza with Gorgonzola and figs. The flavor was like a warm charcuterie board! Amazing service...

What a pizza selection! Must be over 60 types of pizza on offer. You don’t get a menu but a wall showing pictures and description of the ingredients. It does make it hard to make a choice though. The pizzas were excellent and fresh. Definitely would come back. We went on a Friday night and it was really busy. Mainly locals were there and knew each other. Even so the pizzas came in 20 mins. We originally thought it was only takeaway but there is seating outside. You order inside, say that you are eating outside and give them your name. They brought the pizza out when it was ready and then you pay before you leave....

From my point of view this is the best pizza in all of Italy. I mean, I tried at least 10 different pizza places so it's fair to say I can tell.

In all honesty: The pizza and the service were both amazing. We felt very welcome and everyone working there was super friendly towards us. The possibilities to choose from seem endless, you can order via WhatsApp and the pizza is very delicious.

We are now very sad to return to our non-Italian home country and eat the sad excuses of pizzas there. :(
