Chalet Lagole Dolomiti — Restaurant in Calalzo di Cadore

Extremely disappointing and upsetting experience. We were a group of 7 friends, who visited this restaurant at 2:25 PM. Despite multiple polite attempts to get someone to take our order, we were completely ignored for nearly 30 minutes. Finally, at 2:55 PM, a staff member approached us with visible irritation and took our order — only to return two minutes later to say the kitchen was closed and we couldn’t be served.

We calmly explained that we had been waiting for almost half an hour without assistance, while several other groups, who arrived after us had already placed their orders, been served, and were eating. Yet we were told the kitchen was closed.

One of us ordered baked potatoes, only to be told they were “finished.” Yet just five minutes later, a new group sat at the table next to ours, ordered the same dish, and received it without any issue. Three of us ordered paninis, which were clearly already prepared and displayed in front of the counter and they still took over 40 minutes to be served.

The contrast in how we were treated versus other guests (who were not people of color) was stark, consistent, and extremely obvious. Sadly, this appeared to be a clear case of racial discrimination. There was no other logical explanation for the delays, denial of service, and general disrespect we experienced.

We were made to feel unwelcome and inferior not because of anything we did, but clearly because of how we looked. No one deserves to be treated this way. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the staff behavior, because racism has no place in hospitality, or...

ci sono statCibo scadente e congelato, prezzi alti e porzioni misere si parla di un ristorante che a 10 portate, e sopratutto non un locale stellato o di un livello elevato , servizio frettoloso e non professionale; salvo una povera cameriera che si mortifica e chiede scusa per non perdere i clienti, ma la direzione/il titolare non fa nulla di ciò,non si preocupa di venire al tavolo e chiedere informazioni e sopratutto cercarsi di scusarsi per il problema accaduto. Una location eccezionale ma gestita in maniera imbarazzante. Non capisco perché il comune non intervenga e spinga per un cambio di gestione. The Chalet has a very nice and relaxing panorama, the structure is well kept and services are clean and recently renewed.
