Made a reservation on-line, couple of days ahead. In the allergies section, stated gluten intolerance. Later, upon receiving a reminder e-mail about our booking, stated gluten intolerance again. When we arrived on time, despite seeing a bunch of empty tables, the waitress took us to a double table and separated them, thus placing us in the middle of the walkway towards the toilet, making it uncomfortable for us and for other people. No one took time to explain the menu to us, nor took orders for drinks (the restaurant was at about 25% capacity). After about 10 minutes waiting for someone to look at us, we finally managed to flag down a waitress, who informed us that they do not have gluten-free pizza options, only salads. Based on this experience, despite wanting to try this place for more than a year- I rate El Gringo a 1 star place.

We left hungry - fortunately about 50 meters away there was an excellent place, with gluten free options, where arriving with no prior reservation, despite the restaurant being at about 80% capacity, we got a table with amazing views, drinks within 3 minutes, pizzas in...

Looking at this Capricciosa di Montagna pizza, it's exceptionally well-balanced! The combination of Sauris speck, porcini mushrooms, and creamy mozzarella creates a harmonious flavor profile.

The cured meat adds just the right saltiness, while the porcini brings deep, earthy umami that pairs perfectly with the wood-fired char. The cheese melts beautifully without masking the other flavors.

What impressed me most was how each ingredient complemented rather than competed with the others. The base has that perfect char and chew, with toppings distributed evenly for an ideal ratio in every bite.

This is a standout pizza - sophisticated yet approachable, with quality ingredients prepared with care. Highly...

I don’t get the hype. It is an OK pizzeria, not a top one. I found the pizza below expectation, especially if you are in Italy. The dough didn’t have the softness/air of a proper fermentation with a crunchy surface. A commercial oven was used, so, maybe it had its contribution. The ingredients were ok (not bad, not great either). In terms of service, people are nice, although the orders were messed up (both drinks and pizza) and the pizzas didn’t come at the same time (or approx.). The atmosphere is...

Special mention for the maritozzi , I particularly recommend the carbonara one as a little bite, it is very fluffy, tasty and pleasant to eat ☺️ We also had a pizza to share and it came in 2 different plates and already cut in half which was great ! The pizza was tasty, with nice crust and fresh ingredients. The waitresses were super friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place if you are staying in Calalzo di Cadore or around.

The pizza was perfect! I've tried the Crudo ham with Burrata cheese and the taste was amazing! Fresh and local ingredients, the dough was also perfect, soft, easy to chew. I was amazed by the variety of combinations of the ingredients on their pizzas. I really wanted to try more than 5 of them! 🙂 At the photo you can see the mortadella pistachio pizza. Was also amazing. Really recommend this place if you are near Cortina.
