Made a reservation on-line, couple of days ahead. In the allergies section, stated gluten intolerance. Later, upon receiving a reminder e-mail about our booking, stated gluten intolerance again. When we arrived on time, despite seeing a bunch of empty tables, the waitress took us to a double table and separated them, thus placing us in the middle of the walkway towards the toilet, making it uncomfortable for us and for other people. No one took time to explain the menu to us, nor took orders for drinks (the restaurant was at about 25% capacity). After about 10 minutes waiting for someone to look at us, we finally managed to flag down a waitress, who informed us that they do not have gluten-free pizza options, only salads. Based on this experience, despite wanting to try this place for more than a year- I rate El Gringo a 1 star place.

The cured meat adds just the right saltiness, while the porcini brings deep, earthy umami that pairs perfectly with the wood-fired char. The cheese melts beautifully without masking the other flavors.
What impressed me most was how each ingredient complemented rather than competed with the others. The base has that perfect char and chew, with toppings distributed evenly for an ideal ratio in every bite.
This is a standout pizza - sophisticated yet approachable, with quality ingredients prepared with care. Highly...
Read moreI don’t get the hype. It is an OK pizzeria, not a top one. I found the pizza below expectation, especially if you are in Italy. The dough didn’t have the softness/air of a proper fermentation with a crunchy surface. A commercial oven was used, so, maybe it had its contribution. The ingredients were ok (not bad, not great either). In terms of service, people are nice, although the orders were messed up (both drinks and pizza) and the pizzas didn’t come at the same time (or approx.). The atmosphere is...
