My partner and I went out for dinner and we walked up and down the strip to find somewhere suitable for our last night in Camogli, we came across Rasa and asked if we could have a table for 2 despite not having a booking. Who I assume is the owner, asked us to wait for a table, which is fine, however we seemed like a massive inconvenience to him and the establishment. Yes, we may not speak Italian but we tried our best to communicate effectively in English. We had to ask for a wine list after waiting 20 minutes, and the response was “red or white” with no other options or mention of price. The owner seemed to just be frustrated at everything and stumbling around the place. He repeatedly bumped into the back of my head with no apology. As well as this, when we were served our mains we had no cutlery and my partner had to go in and ask the only other worker who seemed to be the chef. While our food became cold.
Lastly, the table next to us who was a rowdy group who seemed to be friendly with the owners smashed a bottle off our table at the end and we were left to clean it up ourselves.
The bill had a service charge plus an additional 10% on all items, this would be fine if we were actually provided with a good service, which we definitely were not.
Overall the atmosphere and service tarnished our experience of hospitality in Camogli, very disappointed and would not recommend, especially if you are an English tourist who doesn’t want to be treated...

I specifically chose a pasta dish that I believed would avoid the ingredients I don’t eat, yet when it arrived, it contained exactly what I had tried to avoid. This was a complete let-down and made the meal inedible for me. And the waitor didn’t give me the information when ordering.
When I tried to get the waiter’s attention, it was impossible for several minutes as both he and a colleague had their backs turned. When I went inside to speak to my waiter, another waitress suddenly appeared, speaking to me in a patronizing way and insisting it was my fault — that I “wasn’t listening” — even though I am very careful when ordering, precisely because of my dietary restrictions.
We left the dishes mostly untouched, yet they still charged the full price, offered no apology, and made no gesture of goodwill. When I mentioned leaving a bad review, the waitress took me to the kitchen to argue in front of the owner, explaining they’d been working all day and were sweaty — as though that justified the situation. I told them to keep the money, and they gladly did.

They made some recommendations that turned out to be the right choice. The food was exquisite, and since we were a couple, they kindly split everything we ordered into two plates in a beautifully presented and organized way. I found it lovely that they took the time to do that. It was truly a wonderful experience at Ristorante Diego, with a beautiful view of the sea.
