After many amazing meals in Italy we had our first disappointing one at this place. The service was okay at some times but ordering house wine apparently triggers the waiter not talking to us for the remainder of the evening. Most of the time we felt like we were a nuisance and the waiter seemed to have preferred it if we'd never sat down (as a matter of fact, so do I).
When it comes to the food the starters and pasta were fine, not great but fine. We ordered the pannacotta and creme brulee for dessert but didn't expect the runny piles of mush that were brought out. When we pointed this out to the waiter he replied with a "This is how WE make OUR creme brulee" (need I say that I had a proper one the previous night in Rapallo for half the price).

Read moreWe ordered caprese salad which cost €14 and it was very poor, it was less than a whole tomato cut into slices and a VERY small mozzarella cheese cut up. For mains we ordered tagliatelle with meat and every other bite was either over cooked or undercooked. We also ordered spaghetti with clams and there was more oil at the bottom of my bowl than in a full bottle of olive oil. The only thing that was nice was the wine and the 2 ladies that worked there were very kind! On the contrary what looked like the manager who came to get payment couldn’t wait 2 more seconds for us to looks at the bill and just turned and left in a big huff like he was annoyed by us. Which is a shame as we didn’t actually complain for...

The house wine is an excellent representation of Ligurian white wines. The trofie al pesto was subtle and delicious, as was the gallinella fish. Dessert was a chocolate baba al rum (forget the exact name); excellent coffee. It's right on the harbor, and you can watch the boats depart for Portofino. Less touristy than the restaurants on the beach; we've seen the fish brought in directly to the restaurant. Highly...
