Came with 5 people, we had a small dog that was announced in our reservation. The waitress told us that she sent 3 mail telling to my friend that dogs aren’t allowed, that was not seen by my friend (junk mail). Now, we understand that there could be a misunderstanding and it is not a problem. But second waiter that comes telling in a condescending way that there is a « sign in front of the door » as if we were dumb, was not professional at all. I am sure this restaurant has exceptional wine and food, but there is a way to professionally handle delicate situations, especially with clients that came for first time and that are visiting the region.
Your past experiences may have been intense, but we cannot possibly know this as well as we cannot be held accountable for them. Try to be more polite to your clients, especially do not judge people by their looks as you did with us.
Anyway we were delighted to go to your neighbor where we got exceptional food AND service.
Good luck to you, hope you make some changes in your service instead of trying to argue online...
Read moreA via Michelin recommended restaurant implied that there is a certain standard. And it really does. The restaurant is run by the Crippa family from front of the house to the kitchen and it is set in the wine cellar so quite nice and airy actually. I will call it modern Italian as you get some light amuse bouche when you started - see my photo. Their home made pasta was very well executed and al dente. I had the braised leek as the starter which was perfectly cooked and I added some white truffles which was an indulgence but you don’t really need it to enjoy the dish . I highly recommend if you are in the area and even if you need to drive for 30 minutes to 45 minutes, i would say it is worth it. Please however book in advance as not sure how they accept...
Read moreWe loved our visit at the Ristorante Enoteca di Canelli - immediately we entered this special wine cave restaurant with smiles and Buona serras - excellente
We started with a wonderful palette cleanser and were they delicious. I had the local regional dish Bagna Cauda as an appetizer - I think it might of had saffron in it - yum
For dinner I had the beef and it was rich and flavorful with the courses we ordered I was glad I didn't order more. For dessert they brought a peach melba spoon with what tasted like chocolate pop rocks in it.
Definitely a keeper - reservations are recommended....
