La Bottega del Gusto — Restaurant in Capaccio Paestum

We visited Paestum in December 2024. We were looking for a place to eat, but many restaurant were shut. I found this restaurant on Google Maps that has high rating. It wasn’t busy at all during winter.

We were greeted by a waiter who speaks excellent English. It was a warm sunny day we were sitting outdoor.

We ordered meat platter, Caprese, burger meat, ravioli, and handmade pasta with fresh tomato sauce.

The ravioli was stuffed with cheese, the texture of the ravioli was nice and soft. the cheese wasn’t so strong that it went very well with the tomato sauce.

The cherry tomato in the cup present was mixed very well with the olive oil and some herbs.

Everything tasted really good and ambience was very chill and relaxing.

For a family of three, including soft drinks and table surface I think we paid around €55. Such a nice meal after walking...

Voglio lasciare una recensione non sul cibo visto che non abbiamo avuto modo di mangiare... ma sulla assoluta scortesia del personale, per nulla accogliente, ci hanno lasciato ad aspettare senza alcuna certezza, ci hanno proposto di mangiare all'interno di una veranda in plastica che sotto il sole caldo emanava una puzza insopportabile, ci hanno vietato di unire due tavoli essendo un gruppo... insomma accoglienza pessima. Alla fine abbiamo deciso di pranzare in un altro ristorante... BOCCIATI!!

Voglio rispondere al proprietario che non ha accettato la mia recensione... Evidentemente lei ci confonde con un altro gruppo, noi non eravamo in 7, non abbiamo preteso nulla, abbiamo GENTILMENTE CHIESTO e PAZIENTEMENTE ATTESO per un bel pò, non abbiamo mancato di rispetto a nessuno!! Abbiamo chiesto di poter unire due tavoli che erano liberi e ci è stato negato, ABBIAMO GENTILMENTE CHIESTO, NON ABBIAMO PRETESO, ovviamente non eravamo a casa nostra... Ci siamo rifiutati di pranzare dentro la veranda in plastica perchè confermo che col caldo la plastica emana un odore sgradevole e dava veramente fastidio... Replico che ovviamente lei sta confondendo con un altro gruppo, è vero che di cafoni in giro se ne trovano tanti, ma non è stato il nostro caso, le posso garantire che noi abbiamo rispetto per chi, come noi, lavora... ma purtroppo resto dell'idea che l'accoglienza non è stata per nulla positiva, è vero che c'era confusione, ma non per questo non meritavamo alcuna considerazione. E lei, invece di replicare con delle accuse errate (ripeto che non eravamo noi il gruppo a cui lei si riferisce) dovrebbe accettare le critiche costruttive e magari apportare qualche modifica nella gestione dell'accoglienza ai clienti.. Immagino sia troppo aspettare le sue...

This restaurant is a great value for money. We have visited it three times during our vacation. The first visit was great - we enjoyed tasty meals and the service was polite. Second time the food was good - we ordered hamburgers - medium - received well done - the service a bit slow. Third time was disappointing - the place was full, we had to wait 30min to order, at first we received main courses, then starters. We have ordered red wine which didn’t arrive but was on the bill.
