Mastro Pizza is a very popular local takeaway / dine-in pizza outlet that offers a huge assortment of pizza styles and a no frills dining area. The main menu board is in Italian but they do have smaller paper menus in English adjacent to the cashier. The prices start from €6 and the pizzas are available in two sizes ... Normal (1-person) and XL (family size). Trust me normal size is huge and more than an average person can eat.
Drinks from water, soft drinks and beers are available from the self service glass front refrigerators.
There are no waiters serving so you order and pay for your pizza, take a plastic knife and fork packet, find a table to sit and start eating. When finished you dispose of the rubbish in the various rubbish bins marked paper, glass, plastics and general waste.
The dining area can be very noisy and echos the sounds of happy diners.
Note: The pizzas are served on paper plates so if you eat pizza with a knife /fork watch out you don't ingest soggy paper.
Caution. The plastic forks are pretty brittle so don't use too much force or the fork teeth will break off.
The building is set back from the main road to provide plenty of off street parking. There are a few outdoor tables but the majority of tables are indoor in the self service dining area.
Not the place for a romantic dinner for two or a quiet meal looking a touristic view but definitely the piece for a low cost, generous size, well topped pizza in a no frills...
Read moreExceptionally good pizza place. 5 minute walk from the Ibis Malpenza airport hotel and the Novotel. The pizzas are large, the calzone was huge, and the beer was good. They have 2 sizes of pizza - normal and XL. They say the normal is good for one, but it is the size of a normal large pizza, so probably good for 2, and the XL is supposed to be good for 4. The calzone was big enough for 2 and had a huge amount of ham and cheese in it. Their prices are very reasonable and it was probably the cheapest meal we have had in weeks for the 4 of us - plus we had left overs because we didn't expect the portion sizes to be as big as they were.
The pizzas were outstanding. The Margherita was pretty much like most Margherita pizzas found everywhere but the number 28 (don't know the name) was amazing and was probably one of the best, or possibly the best pizza I have ever had. It had a spicy salami, sausage, and rocket on it - would 100% recommend it. The cheese balls were basically cheese balls, so it's pretty much what you would expect.
The place is busy with pretty much a stream of customers constantly dining in or taking out. By the volume of customers, you know it is legit.
I would 100% recommend this place it you are near the...
Read moreWhenever in Rome (LOL- or any region of Italy 🥰) you should must find the best pizza pies and the best pasta in every region and each corner of each region. For this challenge we walked around the quaint yet somewhat sprawling Cardano area.
Mastro Pizza instantly peaked my interests because of their menu and my usual travel companions have unique tastes for pizzas whist mine is much simpler, when prepared properly in a fire oven the Margarita taste is define. Bon Appetite
Another note NOT RELATED TO FOOD but Service - A few of us read several reviews commenting & making personal statements regarding the staff and I write this section to explain what we observed - a busy, energetic, friendly young staff who did a great job with my very limited Italian to take my order along with Beers.
Our food order was ready and brought to where we had seated ourselves quickly, hot & fresh. Great food. Great Service!...
