L'Osteria di Bacco was one of the few places that was open on a Tuesday night in late May when I visited the beautiful village of Castel di Tora. For some reason it was very calm that night - the village and its small houses gave the impression of a (very pretty!) abandoned film set. Only a few intriguing smells appeared as signs of life during my evening stroll. My feeling of being on my own continued when I entered L'Osteria where I was, in fact, the only guest. A friendly waitress ushered me in and pointed at a table inside but I asked to be seated on the terrace/balcony that I'd seen pictures of online. After some rearrangement I was able to take a seat outside - and absolutely dumbfounded by what I saw when I sat down. Probably the nicest, most calming and inviting view I've ever had in a restaurant. A very nice glass of white house wine in hand, I looked out on the cone-shaped Monte Antuni with its medieval village on top, a village that consists of a few houses only. I had a surprisingly juicy field salad with walnuts, balsamico dressing and a very tasty burratina in the middle, accompanied by bruschetta with olive oil. This was actually listed as a contorni (side dish) but it worked perfectly as a starter. My primo/main was the spaghetti alla gricia with truffles on top - not my favorite dish of the night but still good. My gazing at the birds' dance (for which the balcony was really a prime spot) was interrupted when the Tiramisu arrived, a very flavourful composition with perfectly balanced ingredients. Abbiamo soggiornato in questo bellissimo e curatissimo borgo, Castel di Tora è un piccolo gioiello incastonato nel mezzo del lago del Turano! Avevamo individuato l'Osteria di Bacco e prenotato per tempo, tra quelle disponibili. Abbiamo trovato, con piacere tutto quello che ci aspettavamo. Locale situato tra i vicoli del borgo alto, una scalinata in discesa porta all'entrata, un ambiente unico, non molti tavoli ma ben disposti che a nostro parere ottimizzano il poco spazio. La cucina è in vista, e si può ammirare come i "padroni di casa" preparano le portate!! C'è anche una piccola terrazza che da su un panorama meraviglioso, sicuramente apprezzabile di giorno, ma noi ci siamo goduti la lina piena con la sua eclissi di settembre. Menù non troppo vario, ma giusto, d'altra parte essendo un home restaurant, questo ci si aspetta, perché quel poco e semplicemente delizioso! Abbiamo preso un antipasto, arrivato praticamente subito, ben presentato, buoni gli affettati, i formaggi, la frittata, le verdure, buonissima la ricotta con miele e noci! Come primo un piatto di casarecce con pomodorini e burrata e uno di tonnarelli alla gricia con tartufo, spettacolari! Secondo le meravigliose costolette d'abbacchio alla scottadito, una delizia! Un buon calice di vino rosso, ed abbiamo passato una bellissima serata! Servizio veloce e cortese, i proprietari molto gentili, ci siamo fatti una bella chiacchierata a fine serata! Consigliatissimo, dobbiamo tornarci...

Na een tweede bezoek kan ik met een gerust hart volgende feedback schrijven: Voor een heerlijke maaltijd op een idyllische plek met adembenemend zicht op het meer van Turano moet je hier zijn! De eigenares is ook de kok, maakt bijna alles zelf met lokale producten, geeft uitleg en vertelt waar alles vandaan komt. Een mooie wijnkeuze om elk gerecht te vergezellen en de lekkere desserts kunnen elke maaltijd feestelijk afsluiten. Daarenboven is de rekening een echte meevaller. Een toplocatie voor een onvergetelijke herinnering! Dopo una seconda visita, posso tranquillamente scrivere il seguente feedback: Questo è il posto giusto per un pasto delizioso in un luogo idilliaco con una vista mozzafiato sul lago! La proprietaria è anche la cuoca che fa quasi tutto da sola con prodotti locali, spiega e racconta da dove viene tutto. Una bella scelta di vini per accompagnare ogni piatto ei gustosi dessert possono concludere ogni pasto in maniera festosa. Inoltre, il conto è una vera manna. Una posizione privilegiata per un ricordo...
