Retrogusto — Restaurant in Castel Giorgio

I didn’t have a first good day here, but I was staying for a a few weeks!

First day.. so so Second night we came…much better Third night …..the service and food was par excellence.

What changed? Me, them?

I think at times… we can forget when having dinners in small Italian towns, the human element! And the absolute need to not be rushed. To talk to your host to have a brief moment.

Unfortunately hit and miss. 2 people enjoyed their meals, 2 not so much. Having experience of pasta with truffles from another nearby restaurant, today we could barely taste truffles. 1 burger great another overcooked and gorgonzola with porchini sauce not so great combination on a burger (not to my liking anyway). Gnocchi very nice and a decent size portion. Unfortunately, half the menu is pizza and it was not available today which we have been told after water was served. Sorry I...

The service was extremely slow - it took 30 minutes to take our order and additional 45 minutes to deliver it. We had to remind the waitress about the drinks two times and we waited for them long. All of this inside with no air conditioning, very hot and unpleasant. Coperto came only with the main meal. Calzone was burnt and tasted of coal. In the meantime our kids were...
