Ristorante Il Cantuccio — Restaurant in Castellabate

Horrible experience. A waitress came to take our order after quite some time, however we hadn't even received menus yet. She came back with one menu for two people! There were empty tables next to us with menus at every chair, so my husband grabbed one. They took our wine order and when the waiter opened the bottle for us, he put his nose in the bottle to smell it. Then, he poured way too much in each glass. My glass had a lipstick stain on it. We pointed it out to the waitress (couldn't talk to her, just pointed, because the music was so loud). She took my glass and came back with an empty. And the wine that was in it? We never got the wine back! The bottle of wine did not appear on the bill, however we didn't get to drink the wine we ordered! Nearly half the bottle had been in my glass that she took. A DJ and hand drummer were playing. The volume of the music was unbelievable. You absolutely could not talk to the person with you. We came to have dinner! It was like being in a disco! Maybe louder! It claims to be a restaurant, not a disco! Our ears hurt. The "restaurant" was full of unclassy people. 50€ later,...

Avoid this place.We didn´t eat there because they found every day an excuse.Lets start i on Tuesday no reservation, no place,acceptabele.We asked for reservation on Wednesday. No it was closed.ok than for Thursday.For Thursday call tomorrow.We called around 11 oclock. Nobody picked up the Phone,called again around 2 o clock. Couldnt make reservation fully booked.. Friday we asked at noon a boy to make teservation. Hé did it .hé asked is 8 o click ok.We said yes.When we arrived at 8.15 the arrogant owner boss or what else said the reservation was for 7.30 and it was to late because hé had a group at niet of 70 People The boy was afraid to open his mouth..So unless you enjoy that they play with your feet we strongly recommend to...

They served someone in our group raw chicken - and still tried to charge us for it, they spilt 3 drinks over members of our group, and they tried to overcharge us by almost €100 by putting the price of 3 aperol spritz as €120 on our cheque instead of €7 each as the menu states. Barely an apology for any of the incidents, in fact they seemed indignant that we would complain about raw food, wet clothes and being charged extra.

I can’t tell if it was just incompetence by the staff or if they were actively trying to let us know we weren’t welcome, either way, none of us will ever return and I advise you don’t waste your time or money...
