Trattoria Casa Mia — Restaurant in Castelvetrano

One of the best meals during our stay in Sicily. The service was impeccable, all the waiters were clearly experienced, which unfortunately is very rare in Sicily. We started with an Antipasto misto di pesce, from which the highlights were the fried sardines and small squid, with an unbelievably light crust, allowing the delicate fresh flavour to stand out. The interpretation of the sarde in saor is also worth mentioning. As a second we opted for a grilled Palamita, from the catch of the day. We were not aware of this fish in our home country and it was a pleasant surprise, strong fatty taste, consistent meat, similar to a wahoo. We were looking for a place like this with my boyfriend for a long time, a place with great food, nice and cosy atmosphere and friendly personel. We had the antipasto with various seafood, the pasta ripiena di cernia con calamari e pesto di basilico and the pasta al nero di seppia. We also had some vino bianco di casa and some limoncello at the end (and some extra offered by the staff 👌). Everything was fresh, the portions were big enough and we were full at the end of the meal. The service was fast and the staff super friendly. The prices were fair, not very expensive. Being in Selinunta and eating in this small trattoria, brought back to me "la casa mia", Greece☺️. It felt like a was eating in a greek taverna near the sea, but with EXCELLENT...

We began with a beautifully curated cheese plate, perfectly complemented by a crisp, bubbly white wine that set the tone for the evening. Next came a Sicilian pesto pasta that was bursting with freshness and just the right kick of spice. The main course featured a swordfish so tender and flavorful. And to finish, a heavenly cannoli that was the perfect balance of sweet and creamy.

We dined al fresco in a charming, peaceful setting that felt like a hidden gem. The service was gracious, attentive, and professional.
