Found this very inexpensive little gem as recommended by our host in Catania After 3 weeks travelling Italy, Tubo was a very welcome homestyle basic casalingo cooking . Think mainly Pizza & Pasta last 3 weeks . The food is exactly like my mum or nonna would make. Just what we needed. Alfio the waiter and his team were very helpful but in the end we walked up to the vegetable counter and ordered with our eyes. Alfio suggested we try the horse meatballs and he kindly brought out a sampler. Only myself and 1 daughter tried. The other 2 still don't know what they missed out on. It was so good and homely that we spent the remaining 3 nights of our Catania stay eating here. It's clear that lots of locals eat here so be careful not to go too late and they never rushed you to leave if you were late. We even left Agrigento at a reasonable time to ensure we made dinner at Tubo (late) Alfio and team have made these Australiano's very happy on their last leg of their Italia journey. You CAN'T & WON'T go wrong at Tubo. Hope your arm heals...

I will definitely be back if I am in Catania again. I love the authenticity. Thank...
