Al setaccio — Restaurant in Ceglie Messapica

Terrible experience at this restaurant! We have been coming to Ceglie for 4 years and everytime we come the restaurant is closed or packed. Our realtor and lawyer (locals from Ceglie messapica) recommended this restaurant to us so we decided to finally give it a try, well as soon as we walked into the restaurant, the owner ignored us and walked away from us. I went after him to asked him if he has a table for 2 and he automatically responded to me in a really condescending way in front everyone in the restaurant and he even used his finger in my face to say that he didn't have a table for us. This treatment is really sad and disappointed to us because every local restaurant has been nice...

We enjoyed sitting on the beautiful piazza in the evening. Ceglie Messapica really is a town that comes to life in the evening. We tried the house wine which was cheap, but nice.

You really have to order the antipasti which are plentiful and very nice. To be honest, just order two portions of antipasti and you have a lovely dinner for two for only 24 euro. The mixed grill was good also, but I've had better octopus in other restaurants. Loved the grilled vegetables though.

Only disappointment: they forgot to offer us a limoncello or amaro to finish the meal. Would have been a perfect end to a lovely dinner. But would definitely...

Posto accogliente situato proprio sopra alla piazza, ma…. accoglienza e servizio pessimo. Il tavolo è stato preparato in più di mezz’ora, inoltre per ricevere il menu abbiamo dovuto sollecitare più e più volte, dopo circa mezz’ora l’hanno portato. Per le bevande abbiamo dovuto aspettare più tempo del dovuto, tra l’altro è stata portata solo una parte di ciò che era stato richiesto, per il resto abbiamo dovuto sempre sollecitare. Dopo un’ora mentre stavamo ancora finendo di mangiare l’antipasto è subito arrivata la portata principale, senza dare un tempo di pausa adeguato. Mentre per quanto riguarda il personale, non so come esprimermi. C’era una disattenzione e una lentezza indescrivibile. Il cameriere più e più volte si è dimenticato diverse cose: come il piatto per appoggiare i crostacei di scarto, il vino, l’acqua frizzante (che era stata portata precedentemente calda, perciò era stato richiesto di metterla al fresco) ma non l’abbiamo mai ricevuta nonostante l’avessimo richiesta anche successivamente. Per non parlare del contorno del polpo, un’insalata in busta scondita, dove abbiamo dovuto richiedere il condimento. Onestamente non ci torneremmo mai. Anche il cibo discreto ma niente di che, considerata l’attesa e l’attenzione verso i piatti. Diciamo che le altre recensioni sono o false, oppure di gente che viene servita con precedenza solo perché del posto e quindi gode di un servizio migliore. Buona serata.
