Trattoria piaceri e tradizione — Restaurant in Ceglie Messapica

My birthday was hosted here by a dear friend, and I'm not certain how our server Francesco was instructed, because I never saw a menu or heard specific instructions. One would imagine I was the most important person in the south of Italy, as I experienced what surely was one of the most memorable meals of my life. Everything was freshly prepared, all obviously made by hand; the pasta, the frutri du mare - impossible to describe. After 16 plates we could go no further in the menu! I made a detour into the kitchen to thank the entire staff - this is a small town with more than 100 restaurants - the choices can be overwhelming, but you can safely put this one on your "don't miss out" list...

Almost 5 ⭐ We've eat antipasti (appetizers), we ate two first courses, a second with side dish, a dessert, coffee and amaro. FOOD ⭐⭐⭐⭐ WAITERS ⭐⭐⭐⭐ BATHROOM⭐⭐⭐ RESTAURANT ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food it was good, maybe the first courses needed a bit more of salt, the second courses was the best (the one in the picture). Waiters where nice and funny. Bathroom was clean.. but the wall in front of the toilet too close to the face and maybe some towel paper for the hands would've been better. Esperienza davvero nefasta, ci siamo sentiti presi in giro. Abbiamo ordinato antpasti per 4 persone, tre primi e 1 secondo. Gli antipasti sono cominciati ad arrivare al tavolo dopo 40 minuti, un'attesa davvero assurda considerando che la maggior parte delle portate erano fredde: sottoli, salumi, formaggi, quindi senza necessità di preparazione. Ma dopo gli antipasti l'attesa è continuata per un tempo superiore ad altri 40 minuti, quando abbiamo cheisto spiegazione e abbiamo chiesto di annullare le portate successive ci è stato detto ceh non si poteva annullare perché erano già in cottura; ok, abboiamo pensato, saranno in cottura quindi arriveranno presto, passano altri 15 minuti e niente, arrivano due piatti con delle patate arrosto, chediamo cosa fossero, dicono il contorno del secondo. Perplessa dico, ma come i contorni del secondo se ancora non sono arrivati i primi...per tutta risposta, il cameriere dice: avevate primi??? A quel punto non ci ho visto più, aveva portato il secondo a tavola, gli dico ceh andiamo via, di preparare da portare via quel seconod ma che i primi non li vogliamo, insistono per portare via anche i primi e ci rifiutiamo. Ci mettiamo in cassa per pagare e non arriva nessuno, dopo altro 10 minuti arriva una persona, ci fa il conto, senza i primi. Paghiamo 90€ per l'antipasto per 4, 2 botiglie d'acqua, mezzo litro di vino, l'arrosto portato via e tanta tanta rabbia. Più di 2 ore in un ristorante per mangiare solo l'antipasto, mediocre, tra l'altro. Il cameriere improvvisato ceh continuava a dire che dovevamo avere pazienza, che quando si va a mangiare fuori bisogna fare con calma e che ci aveva fatto un favore a farci sedere!! Un favore? Ho chiesto se aveva un tavolo e ci ha fatto accomodare, nessun favore. Quando si va a mangiare fuori ci si aspetta di essere trattati con professionalità e rispetto. Esperienza...
