This restaurant did not match the quality level of its hotel. We were very disappointed that the extremely expensive tartufo menu (€130 per person), which we had to order in advance and for which there was limited choice), consisted of mostly egg/dairy dishes - a cheese brulée, a flan, tajarin, and as secondo a raw egg on fonduta or fried eggs. The dolce was from the regular menu. We understand that the tartuffi were to be experienced but the base food was very rich, very bland, and not prepared in a manner consistent with the price. Further, after truffle hunting in the morning, finding and experiencing white and both summer and winter black, we were surprised at the lack of variety of tartuffi used in the preparation - it seemed to ask be the same tartufo for each course. It would have been a far better menu to have a vegetable antipasto and a normal secondo choice - perhaps featuring Cherasco's famous lumache or local cinghiale. The local Cherasco restaurants are fantastic and cost about 30% of what this cost. The special menu may not be typical of the restaurant, and the ambiente was unique and lovely.

Food was ok. The zucchini flowers were nice but lacked a little something to give it a kick or make it feel a bit special. The risotto was ok. A bit bland to my taste and the snails did not have any taste. Decoration is ok. The room is impressive in size but I don't know something feels off. Unfortunately my Italian is non existent and I could feel that the language was sometimes a barrier. Also we never got the petit fours at the end. We were not that hungry anymore and I think the waiters were just tired of the service. Panacotta was okay, the strawberry sauce was good.

Ambiente elegante, musica discreta in sottofondo, personale gentile, professionale e sempre sorridente.
