Ristorante Messicano Nauroz Tex-Mex — Restaurant in Chiavari

After about a year of not coming to eat here due to a discrepancy with the service, I returned. The food is consistently excellent as always, I have been a customer since Ijaz first opened the restaurant. Ijaz is a dear man who poured his heart, soul, and labor into the building of this business. If there is one thing which saddens me is that I do not find him here as much as many years ago. It is true that perhaps he made the restaurant into a very well made machine, however, the presence of Ijaz adds the owner’s character, charm and persona. Only the one man who built the establishment from scratch with his perseverance, sacrifice, and the initial risk of founding a restaurant can have such influence. Prima esperienza in un ristorante messicano, e devo dire che nel complesso è stata molto positiva. Il trattamento riservato ai clienti è stato cordiale, tranne in un paio di momenti in cui, semplicemente per chiedere delle salviettine, c’è stato un piccolo disagio. A parte questo, la ragazza che ci ha servito è stata davvero gentile e disponibile, qualità che purtroppo non si trovano ovunque.

A livello di cibo, come si può vedere anche dalle foto che pubblico qui sotto, sono rimasto molto soddisfatto. Abbiamo speso circa 30€ a persona (eravamo in 4 con due piatti ciascuno), e devo dire che il rapporto qualità-prezzo è stato buono.

L’unica vera pecca è la posizione del locale, situato in una via difficile da trovare, piuttosto stretta, buia e non particolarmente invitante. Una zona che non rende giustizia al ristorante, e che potrebbe scoraggiare chi ci arriva per la prima volta.

In generale, comunque, esperienza consigliata: per provare qualcosa di diverso, ne vale la pena. First experience at a Mexican restaurant, and I have to say it was overall very positive. Customer service was friendly and welcoming, except for a couple of moments where there was a bit of discomfort just asking for some napkins. Aside from that, the girl who served us was very kind and helpful — which isn’t always the case everywhere.

As for the food, as you can see from the pictures I’m sharing below, I was very satisfied. We spent around €30 per person (we were 4 people with two dishes each), and I’d say the quality-to-price ratio was fair.

The only real downside is the location of the restaurant, which is on a street that’s hard to find, quite narrow, dark, and not very inviting. It doesn’t reflect the atmosphere inside and might discourage first-time visitors.

Buon ristorante messicano vicino al centro di Chiavari con portate abbondanti. Devo tuttavia segnalare l'ultima esperienza avuta a cena con la mia ragazza, che mi ha lasciato un pó con l'amaro in bocca. Sebbene fossimo stati i primi a sederci, abbiamo mangiato per ultimi, con 1 ora e un quarto di attesa. Una volta arrivato il cibo, a causa di un mio errore di comunicazione di un'intolleranza della mia ragazza, abbiamo dovuto rimandare indietro il suo piatto (non ce lo hanno fatto pagare). É stato molto spiacevole vedere i camerieri sparlare poco distante da noi; comprendo appieno il loro disappunto, ma queste cose possono capitare e io e la mia ragazza non siamo affatto stati scortesi (almeno potevano non farsi vedere). Dopo aver ordinato un altro piatto, e aver atteso per altri 40 minuti, i pezzi di carne alla piastra sono arrivati pressoché crudi (il cameriere non ci ha chiesto come volessimo la cottura).
