Locanda Baffolona — Restaurant in Ciampino

I’m only giving this place one star because it’s the lowest possible rating — the food itself wasn’t bad, but everything else was appalling.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were unprofessional and uninterested. They stood around chatting amongst themselves, and we had to ask if we could even be seated. When we were eventually told to “pick any table,” the waitress who came over was abrupt and showed little interest in looking after us. She didn’t bother explaining the menu, and when a basket of bread was dropped on the table, our plates had already been cleared, leaving us with nothing to eat it from.

The waiter who took our order was equally dismissive, acting as though he didn’t want to be there and offering no guidance with food or drink choices. When our beers arrived, they came with such a large foam head that we were essentially served short measures, which just summed up the lack of care. Although the food itself was enjoyable, no one checked on us during the meal or asked if we needed anything else.

When it came time to pay, things got worse. We asked for the bill and were ignored, eventually having to ask again. We were then told to pay inside, but as we stood waiting, staff repeatedly walked past us without acknowledging we needed assistance. Only after some time did what appeared to be the manager step in to process our payment.

Overall, it was a very poor experience — inattentive, unprofessional service that completely overshadowed the food. I would not recommend this...

Il ristorante si trova su Via dei laghi, una strada principale e facile da raggiungere, a due passi dal passaggio a livello di Ciampino. Il locale dispone di un parcheggio privato gratuito proprio fuori dal ristorante e di un altro parcheggio privato, gratuito e custodito dall'altra parte della strada sempre vicinissimo al ristorante. Un fattore che ho apprezzato veramente tanto. Una volta entrati verrete accolti da un ragazzo che, presumo, sia il responsabile di sala. Con molta cortesia vi accompagnerà al vostro tavolo. Ho cenato in veranda/sul portico e sono stato bene. Il legno del pavimento era ben tenuto ed anche i tavoli e le sedie erano comodi; le luci, le piante(non so se erano vere o no, ma poco importa a mia avviso in un locale così) e i vari neon comunicavo il fatto di trovarsi in un ristorante di carne, ma con qualche dettaglio in più per coccolare i commensali. I camerieri e il servizio sono stati adeguati, i tempi sono stati corretti ed il tutto è stato fornito con quel pizzico di informalità che mi mette sempre a mio agio. Il cibo mi ha soddisfatto. Ho preso come antipasto il "Tris di Pizzottelle" (prezzo: 7 euro). Erano 3 pizze fritte, in porzioni abbondanti, con vari gusti. Quella classica, la più buona a mio avviso, una con all'interno mozzarella e una specie di sugo piccante con peperoni (molto gustosa) e una con cicoria e salsiccia. Quest'ultima un pò troppo unta per i miei gusti ma l'impasto era buono e fritto molto bene. Infatti non mi ha gonfiato la pancia e ho potuto continuare a mangiare sereno. Successivamente ho optato per una tagliata con il tartufo(prezzo: 22 euro). Anche qui carne in quantità generose. Ciccia di alto livello, tenerissima e gustosa, valorizzata al meglio dal tartufo. Veramente ottima. Come contorno ho scelto le patate al forno(prezzo:5 euro). Nulla da dire su quest'ultime, mi soffermo sul fatto che in cucina hanno scelto di lasciare loro la buccia e devo dire che quella croncattezza in più dava un brio in più a delle semplici patate. Infine, come dolce ho preso la sbriciolata ai frutti di bosco(prezzo: 5 euro). Fantastica, crema perfetta e gustosa. I frutti di bosco vengono accompagnati con dello sciroppo dello stesso sapore che, amalgamato con tutto il resto, alla fine non era male. C'era anche un pò di panna montata davvero buona ed azzeccata con il dolce. Molto piacevole e fresco, adatto per l'estate. Il coperto si paga 1.50 euro a testa e l'acqua 2.50 euro a bottiglia. Ristorante perfetto per ogni occasione, sia per una mangiata tra amici sia per una cena con una ragazza. Il menù comprendeva varie cose, anche dei primi. Quindi penso che tornerò per provare altro. Se cercate un ristorante di carne con un ottima materia prima, ambiante piacevole con prezzi nella media e porzioni abbondanti, la Locanda Baffalona è la scelta...

A bit slow service and we couldn't eat all together, when my friend finished I just received my meal. I can say the restaurant was quite busy and I can understand and they even made us a little discount to say sorry about it. Really nice antipasto with a lot of different dishes. Pasta wanst that good as I expected. The Meat was amazing the best I ever had!!! I had a really nice bistecca wich comes with some sides too.
