Basilicò - Pizzeria & Braceria Siciliana — Restaurant in Cinisi

I came here with my fiancé on our vacation after seeing the reviews here. We made a reservation for 19:00 and we were among 2 other tables there. The service in the beginning was very rushed. We assumed it was because they just opened and they weren’t that busy. After being seated for 5 minutes, we were asked if we were ready to order 2 times. The pizza and appetizer were really good. We ordered the chuck roll medium rare to split with a side of roasted potatoes. The chuck roll was pretty much raw, so thank goodness for the charcoal grill they serve with it so we could continue to slow cook it ourselves. The food overall was good but the service didn’t meet to par. After our meal came, we did not see our waiter at all. Which was odd given the excessive times he came to take our order in the beginning. We asked for a second water and never received it. When asking for the check, we waited about 15 minutes. Our bill was €93,50 and we gave €100,50 and then never received our change or receipt copy. We waited another 20-30 minutes and we still didn’t receive anything. We went to the front desk and no one could find the money or our change. Then they gave us the €7 and said they never gave it to us because they thought we left… despite us sitting at the table the entire time. Could’ve been a better experience for both of us if the service...

The service is over the top great, the food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is great.

I wish I was spending more time in the area so I can come back again.

Edit: I finished my meal, and everything was better than expected. Mary, our server, was top notch, as was the rest of the staff. The manager took us to the fridge to show us the Steaks and make recommendations on food and wine.

Steaks were cooked perfect, dessert was the best I had, and the drinks were well enjoyed.

Edit Edit: the staff was so friendly that after we finished and paid our tab we stayed and had more drinks. Among the most enjoyable time I've had at a restaurant on the island of Sicily...

Had an interesting and unfortunate experience at Basilico this evening. Our server(s) took our order, dropped off the food and was/were never to be seen again other than to tell us after 40 minutes that the 4th and final dish for our table didn’t get cooked.

When asked how we wanted the steak cooked we said medium rare. The steak came out as pictured.

When this issue was escalated to staff they offered us coffee to make up for it and said it was a misunderstanding as we speak English. However we have a fluent Italian speaker that ordered our food and the server that took our order was exceptionally fluent in English.

Understanding that mistakes happen, there was no resolution for us at Basilico. Over...
