El Pael Ristorante — Restaurant in Comun General de Fascia

My friend and I dined here tonight 27/06/22. The place looked nice and having checked the menu online we decided to try it. Although it is more expensive than most in the area every restaurant deserves one visit, please don't let the prices put you off, you won't regret it.

We got there about 8pm, and we're greeted warmly by the staff and the owner and they found us a table, although it wasn't so busy on this occasion so easy to do. The restaurant is very nice inside and to us very nice atmosphere at maybe about half full. We had a drink and some bread and pate to get us started.

Then we both had steak with smoked mash and choice of veg. For both of us this steak was quite possibly the best steak ever or damn close. My friend was offered a very nice wine to accompany his steak and loved it, and cheaper than we both expected for the glass. We didn't go for a dessert, but had a coffee instead which was nice. We would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially the steaks. We might even go back tomorrow. Paying more if you get the quality is fine in my opinion, and this place definitely has the quality. All the staff were excellent any time we needed them ... Thanks for...

Dunque, spiego la vicenda. Il primo giorno di arrivo, in zona era tutto pieno, qua mi dicono che se siamo d’accordo ci sarebbe posto per le 21,30. Accetto. Appena arrivati, durante la scelta del menù, noto già alcune arie da fretta, concretizzate dopo poco in quanto alcuni piatti non erano ordinabili e dopo neanche due minuti di consegna del menu, vengono a chiederci se siamo pronti perché la cucina sta per chiudere. Ora… io non obbligo i ristoranti a volermi, più volentieri sto digiuno o mi accomodo come meglio credo, tipo uno street food se c’è in zona, ma se tu, mi dai la disponibilità per le 21,30, devi essere consapevole di dover dare al cliente il tempo necessario per scegliere e non mettere fretta dicendo che la cucina chiude alle 22. Altrimenti mi dici che sei pieno e stop. Personalmente l’ho trovata una mossa per acchiappare clientela. Punto 2: Ordiniamo, ci portano le pietanze a tempo record, il che mi fa pensare ad un precotto, (il cervo è una carne che ha bisogno di cottura, servirlo dopo due minuti dalla scelta può apparire bello, ma temo sia stato riscaldato) ma va bene comunque, se non fosse che sapeva di aceto. La cameriera chiede se va tutto bene o manca qualcosa, ci mancava le patate ed un prosecco, (richiesti già poco prima). Dopo 5 minuti torna e chiede ancora conferma se manca qualcosa, diciamo di no facendo finta di nulla ed a quel punto ci rammenta le patate… dice se le vogliamo ancora in quanto si era dimenticata, rispondiamo di no. Risposta sua: “anche perché la cucina e chiusa”. Ok…. Del prosecco comunque, ancora nulla…. Chiede del dolce, prendiamo un cioccolato per la bambina, diciamo di volerlo semplice, una palla di cioccolato semplice per una bambina. Lo ripeto. Porta il dolce, apparentemente bello gourmet ma completamente inutile a cui è rivolto, ci versa sopra la crema di lamponi calda senza dire nulla. “Il dolce è cosi”… ovviamente la bambina non lo mangia. Concludo: il locale dentro è bello, elegante ma preferisco altro se vado in montagna, nel ristorante non si mangia male, ma l’accoglienza tipica che mi aspetto dal trentino non c’è, i piatti che ho preso sono mangiabili ma il gourmet da foto stona e lo vado a cercare altrove. Probabilmente molte persone mangiano prima con gli occhi e col cellulare, dimenticandosi di prodotti tipici e belli sostanziosi che ci si aspetta da certe zone. Pensiero mio. Dimenticavo, il prosecco mai arrivato: 7€ Le patate non prese: 8€ La pallina di cioccolato semplice per la bambina: 9€, ovviamente...

Excellent food but not really recommended for families with small children. The sommelier (owner?) at the reception gave us cold stares since the moment we stepped in and the only two sentences we heard from him where "Let me show your table" and "have the children remove the shoes if they sit on the bench" as if they were going to jump on it. The waiter that served our table was much nicer, but we were still shaking off the cold reception. The food was the positive note of the evening with a perfectly cooked venison with a Porcini side dish and an amazing purple gnocchi with cheese and mushrooms, even if slightly under salted and over cooked. We will be back on the new year on January 1st because of the food, and hopefully the reception is better and we can write off the first evening as a one off bad...
