Incredibile / Amazing
Came here for lunch with my wife in Oct 2020. Celebrating her birthday. Amazing menu with re-invented local recipes using Presidi Slow Food as key ingredients. Familiar dishes but flavors that made them taste like something completely different. The beer + red currant was incredibly satisfying, and I don't generally like sweet stuff. Marinated Garda sardins - 5 stars, as it was for the stuffed zucchini flowers with watercress mayo -- what a pleasant combination. Polenta gnocchi were to kill for as the simple, but exceptional cheese fonduta with a polenta made with special flours. Courteous staff, nice ambience. Had a nice stroll around the castle after. Price was reasonable. This restaurant is not to be confused with the one belonging to the hotel, which is only open for dinner. I will definitely come back.
Note: I noticed there is a 1-star review from somebody here on Google Maps, reading through I noticed none of the dishes this guy mentions are on the menu -- this is high class stuff, not ribs and white rice.
Fantastico.
Read moreExcellent food, mostly vegetarian, local ingredients, extremely friendly staff in a magnificent location. Mindful service clearly aiming to avoid waste in any way without compromise on quality. Eg the balsamico is served as a spray. The hummus salad is not “diluted” with sesame. The berry juices are a delight. Dishes appear smallish but turn out more than substantial. The beetroot burger has great bite and taste. Homemade pasta, bread and dessert make you fall from first “ooh” to next “aah”. Good espresso coffee to perfect. Paying the bill another surprise: great value! As we left the kitchen was preparing a sumptuous chocolate cake - we may need to come back. PS almost forgot the location: the green castle gardens are lovely and the views enough reason on their own...
Read moreWe hiked up to Castel Pergine today, which is really worthwhile. We had lunch at Ca' Stalla, and were pleased to find so many vegetarian choices! In fact, the whole menu is vegetarian except for a panino con formaggio e speck (our friends ordered this, it looked delicious, on foccacia bread). I had the panino vegetariano, which was essentially a chickpea and beet burger on a bun with toppings, quite good. We also ordered the insalata con fagioli and the insalata semplice, both very good. Nice seating inside with good jazz music, but we sat outside on the lovely terrazza. Great stop after a visit...
