We had one dinner here during our nice stay in Riva. I had pasta with meat sauce, my better half had pasta with fried onion and tuna, based on recommendation of the waiter, who was really very nice and talkative. Wine was quite good, we ordered a bottle of red wine, I don't remember exact sort. The pasta was fresh and home made, quite nice, however the meat sauce was just average in my case, nothing special and the tuna with onion sauce was too salty, kind of not tasty at all, my wife even didn't finish it. Probably we had too high expectations based on people queuing in front of the restaurant and all these nice reviews, maybe| it was coincidence in our case, but our food didn't meet them. Waiting time for meal was also long (50 minutes), we were informed about in advance. We accepted it and spend there nice time together waiting, so this was no issue at all. For me the pasta we got didn't exceed any of pastas we had during our nice stay here. Edited to reply to owner: From what can you get a conclusion we like eating low quality food? And yes, it is true that we did not give feedback on food directly there in restaurant, so please find it above. Each person have different and individual perception of tasty pasta, so mine may be different...
Read moreThe best pasta we've eaten, in Italy and beyond, no doubt!
I recommend listening to the host, waiter and the owner of the restaurant. He runs the place with his wife, who is the only cook, so expect a long wait (absolutely worth it though!). Local options which he recommends are absolutely excellent. Everything is prepared by hand and on the spot and it just cannot get better than this.
We've got ourselves fried tortellini for starters, local variations of Bolognese pasta and pasta with sausage, and rice cake for dessert. Along with a different version of Aperol Spritz and beer, we've paid 50 Euros with coperto, which is great price for the location.
One last comment: you can forget about any doubts you may have based on the negative reviews. In my opinion, they are based on the fact that the gentleman serving guests is also the owner of the restaurant and doesn't behave like a waiter, groveling to his guests, which some...
Read moreHonestly, this is one of the best, if not THE best restaurants for pasta in Riva Del Garda! We have just eaten at this lovely family restaurant tonight and were astounded by the service and food. Husband and wife team, with Mr Pasta manning the tables, despite having a full restaurant, he took the time to come over and explain each of the pasta dishes to me and my wife as we don't eat beef. The wait can be a while as it was only his wife in the kitchen, and she makes all the pasta fresh and from scratch so it was definitely worth the wait! I'm not that fussy when it comes to fresh v store bought pasta, but this was a game changer. At the end, my wife wanted tiramisu and unfortunately the last one had just been sold. However, Mrs Pasta was on it and she made us fresh tiramisu from fresh and from all the tiramisu we have this so far had, this was the best. If you're after authentic simple pasta in Riva, then do give this...
