Most interesting gourmet restaurant on the Italian East side of Lago Maggiore. Some edges, however. Some very interesting dishes, such as the filled langoustine, or the mussel ragout as amuse geule. The risotto while fine, overpowering and too filling, overshadowing the fine meat main. The ipad wine list a bit tedious to use, big selection, some good and some too old or overpriced offers. Service on a quiet night very attentive and friendly. The ambience for winter time a bit old-fashioned, could benefit from more intimate lighting. La Tavola restaurant is by far the best in the area, but this time they have excelled themselves. Their menu is always delicious, but this time I think they are at a higher level, where the different flavors and contrasts feel in perfect balance and harmony. The wine list is extensive and interesting, and the service in the room is exquisite. Perfect combination of family and cozy atmosphere with the most first class service and cuisine. All this paired with breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. They are getting better day by day and for us it is already a regular place where we always come back...

A few more details. The location is beautiful. The parking space a bit tight depending when you arrive.

The staff was very friendly and knowledge.

And of course the food. It was delicious. With some surprises, but that's what you want from a 1* restaurant.
