From the moment we stepped into this cozy little haven, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, inviting atmosphere embraced us like an old friend. The wild mushroom risotto was nothing short of perfection—creamy, rich, and bursting with the earthy flavours of perfectly sautéed mushrooms, making it the best I’ve ever had. It felt like a dish crafted with love, straight from an Italian grandmother’s kitchen. And then came the homemade strudel, a dessert that could make you believe in magic. Crisp, buttery pastry encased sweet, spiced apples with pine nuts, and each mouthful was a delightful balance of warm, comforting flavours. It was the perfect ending to a sublime meal, leaving us craving just one more bite. As for the service, Mihail, our waiter, was attentive and charming. His warm demeanour and genuine passion for the food made the experience even more enjoyable. He was knowledgeable about the menu, quick with a smile, and had just the right amount of care and attention, making sure we felt pampered from start to finish. But the real cherry on the cake was the lovely elderly lady who bid us farewell at the end of the night. Unfortunately, I don't know her name, but her goodbye was one of the most heartfelt and sincere I’ve ever received. There was something about the way she spoke, a quiet grace that made you feel like part of the family, leaving you with a sense of comfort and warmth that lingered long after we left. If you're looking for a place where incredible food meets a truly homey atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit.

Wonderful food, people and atmosphere! We pretty much ate here every night of our stay in Riva del Garda as we loved it so much. My friend and I just returned from a week long stay in Riva del Garda. I had eaten in Leon D'oro on a previous trip and was keen to return. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, the service was fantastic and if we could have brought 'Mama' (the beautiful lady who owns the restaurant, Senora Sandra) home with us, we would have! The decor is traditional Italian. The food is outstanding, you can tell it is cooked with love and great ingredients. I don't think anything less than perfect would get past Mama's watchful eye! We were treated like part of the family and we recommended a meal here to pretty much everyone in our tour group - all commented how great a meal and experience they had. On one of the evenings we ate there we counted 15 other people from our tour! The atmosphere was terrific, lots of chatter and happy people enjoying great food. We never felt that we were rushed and the staff were willing and able to answer every question we had. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming but we want to pay special tribute and say a huge thank you to Senora Sandra, Michelle, Miky, Adrian, Tania and Luca for making our holiday so special. We can't wait to return x

Visited for lunch based on reviews. Were given a table in the street, directly in the sun, which was unpleasant with a 4 year old. Luckily, the table next to us moved, and we relocated to under one of the umbrellas. Ordered a calzone and the Maccheroni freschi al torchio all’arrabbiata. My partner enjoyed his pizza. My pasta was homemade, but the sauce was tasteless. Clearly, no garlic or chilli had been added, just tomatoes and parmesan. When we finished our meal we weren't offered any dessert menus or coffee. So we asked for the bill. The waitress Rosa said go inside as the card machine doesn't work out here. This was total rubbish as we witnessed her using it at the table next to us. There is a cover charge of €2.50 per person, even for a child. As a family, we were made to feel most unwelcome, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding, our best meal of the holiday so far (day 5). This restaurant was highly recommended on a FB group so we thought we'd try it out. We passed by at about 4pm and booked for 7pm as it was a Saturday and just in case it was busy. Well it certainly was busy but it's a large restaurant with outside seating too. There was a lady there who was making sure everything went smoothly and people were seated. Our waiter Adrian was excellent and advised us on portion sizes and was very attentive. We both had the bruschetta to start, hubby had the Black Angus Grilled steak with roast potatoes and courgette gratin and I had the risotto with Prawns and lemon. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend it ourselves. With wine it came to less than €100

If you want to have a really great night out, go to Leon d'Oro for dinner and then to the harbour and listen to the Italian version of Harry Dean Stanton. The Golden Lion is the oldest place here, I was there for the first time ever, I didn't have a reservation. The old lady, Nonna Sandra greeted me warmly and with a handshake and gave us a really nice table at the open Window - exceptional. The waiters were all extremely professional, paying attention to small details such as the orientation of the serving. The food was excellent, my recommendation would be to order one of the dishes marked as traditional. This was the best experience in three weeks dining around lake garda. Nice atmosphere, warm wellcome, good food.

Our server was Hazem, he was a model waiter from the get go and we felt well looked after, we wish him all the best! Despite the menu not being explicit in mentioning its gluten free options, there were plenty of ‘inadvertently’ gluten free options that weren’t highlighted to us. For example, fillet steak and salad was entirely gluten free but not advertised as so. They did have gluten free pasta and Hazem was amazing at checking with the chefs if there was ever any doubt. Stress free eating with Coeliac requirements, thanks a million! Only improvements we would want is labelling the menu better for allergens and a bit of ventilation. (Pictured is the Duck breast, a beautifully cooked dish)
