La Pace Dei Sensi — Restaurant in Corato

Greetings to all lovers of good food! Today I visited this picturesque restaurant with my girlfriend. It was quite late around 10 o'clock. But for the staff, it was no problem and we got an amazing table with pictures of famous Italian celebrities and in all these pictures was an unknown man. After a while, I realized that this man is the owner himself and works in his restaurant. Well, not exactly alone. His right hand man on this day was Gabrielle the amazing waiter who took care of us like he had known us all his life. We were warned at home before we left for Italy that the service here wasn't that good, but Gabriel proved us all wrong! What I experienced today must have been experienced by kings in medieval times an incredible variety of starters to go with the excellent wine and finally an amazing dessert. It was a privilege to eat here and taste a culture I had never tasted before. I wish the owner many more amazing years filled with equally great business and I wish Gabriel the best for the future! Tipica trattoria pugliese a conduzione familiare NON turistica, nel centro storico di Corato (Bari). Il locale è accogliente, caldo, con una 40ina di coperti tutti ottimamente gestiti da un servizio velocissimo ed impeccabile. Si parte con una proposta molto ricca di antipasti: verdure sott’olio e sottaceto fatte da loro, formaggi, salumi, burrate locali, focaccia, frittata, vellutata di cicoria e fave, fave all’insalata con cipolle ed ancora altro. I primi sono cucinati con pasta fatta in casa e sughi con carne o salsiccia, pomodorini, cime di rapa o funghi o anche altro in base alla proposta giornaliera. I secondi sono a base di carne grigliata sui carboni, che hanno in cucina: cavallo, salsicce di maiale, maiale e tagliata manzo: il sapore è intenso, si capisce subito la qualità del prodotto e la bravura del maestro di brace. A finire caffè, liquore, frutta e dolci sempre fatti in casa: crostate, ricotta al forno, ciambellone di arancia. Il prezzo del menù varia dai 18 ai 25 euro a persona. In coppia abbiamo preso 2 proposte di antipasti (7-8 portate), due secondi di carne grigliata di cavallo, maiale e manzo, caffe limoncello frutta e dolci ed abbiamo pagato 45€ (48€ - 3€ di sconto), decisamente poco per quanto offerto. Lunch today was such a fabulous experience. The food kept coming to our table on small platesand it was a real smorgasbord of authentic Puglian food. The owner is so hospitable and makes sure that you leave with a full stomach.
