Capitan des Alpes — Restaurant in Courmayeur

Well, the pizza was not great nor terrible (as a classic would say). I mean, if you crave pizza and don't mind getting something you could do quickly at home, than it is a fine place.

If you want THE Italian pizza, go elsewhere, probably in Courmayeur. I had "4 Stagione" and apart from mozzarella (and possibly the dough) it did not impress. The champignons and artichoches, and probably the sauce as well, came from a can. Had I known that, I would not get it (really don't like canned veggies). Ham was okay as well, but just a small piece in one place (you can see it on the picture), so almost forgot about it.

We were staying at Camping Monte Bianco La Sorgente and were looking for a place to eat at walking distance, so Courmayeur was not an option. Capitan des Alpes is at a 20 minute walk. This restaurant looks and feels as if it started small, and a new part was added to it through the years.

So don't expect an overdesigned luxurious place, but do expect very friendly, helpful and quick service. The prices are what you expect in this area, but the food is good, tasty pizza's and big bowls of pasta.

Worst service in my entire life! When ordering takeaway, the girl at the counter told me that I should place the order and come back in 30. After coming back, the same girl told me that it was busy and they could not prepare my order. Minutes later, another woman comes and tells me that takeaway is not possible.
