Well located with a fantastic view on the mountains: that's about it. Other places offer this and much more nearby.
Room is super small with a bunk bed: hard to move around with 2 backpacks. Was super hot during the night to the extent we had to leave the door open to create an airflow (as other guests did).
Half-board food: At dinner very simple dishes and not enough in quantity (some people were eating their own food after dinner, we requested some more and got more - which was a good point)
At breakfast: low quality instant coffee (despite the fact there is a coffee machine behind the counter), poor offering, no eggs, some sliced meat that is not replenished when it's all eaten, no orange juice, just cheap fruit mix juice. Only bread and industrial jam and honey. Nutella portions were a good surprise though.
Pic-nic: my advice is to skip it and get something better and cheaper in Courmayeur nearby as what is provided: basic salami sandwich with poor quality bread and salami, a very basic energy bar and an apple - that was surprisingly good in comparison - for 12€ is ... bad.
The employees do a good job though and are friendly despite the very low standards of this business.
The worst refuge since we started the TMB: go there only if you have no other choice (there is a camping nearby though). Typical business where the management's focus is on making as much money as possible with little respect for the guests ans...
Read morePrivate double was well set up with a sink and closet space, and somewhat clean. Showers are more spacious and cleaner than other rifugios. Food was awful. Vegetarian alternative consisted of two hardboiled eggs. The first course of pasta was very undercooked and had only some thin tomato sauce (no seasoning) on it. Breakfast was an embarrassment with cornflakes and a tiny plate of ham and cheese. Bread served with dinner and breakfast was stale and tasteless. Nice views but easy enough to bus or walk into Cormayeur for a much nicer hotel at...
Read moreWhen you follow the TDMB trail, you are not expecting amazing food. Just relatively tasty and nutritious. The dinner at this Refugio was a misunderstanding. Tasteless soup, small minced meat burger and a sliced lettuce and bread. A vegetarian option: meat replaced by three pieces of cheese. I don't have great expectations, but the bag of chips was more caloric :) And INSTANT COFFEE for breakfast in Italy - Outrage! The place was clean and nice, but the food...
On the other hand, as restaurant this is a nice place, with good food...
